Warmest Snowflake Greetings

Good morning!  It's a cold chilly morning here in Texas, and I think this card reflects what I'm seeing today.  LOL  I created this card for my friend Bev's Falliday Fest challenge over on Splitcoaststampers.  She challenged us to use Brushos or Colorburst or any kind of watercolor powder for a burst of color on our cards.

I pulled out my Brushos and sprinkled this Cobalt Blue all over some watercolor paper.  After I misted the paper and powder with water, I placed this Fetching Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over the paper and let it dry.  I love that outline of the stencil in the midst of all the colorful swirls.  I added a sentiment from Hero Arts and some Card Bling (free sequins with every order from A Colorful Life Designs).

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save some money when you order from A Colorful Life Designs.  There's a lot of gorgeous snowflake stencils to choose from, like this Fetching Snowflake that I used today.  You can also check out the great October release which is full of wonderful holiday stencils.

You still have some time to play along in our Falliday Fest challenges.  We'd love to see what you create!

Poinsettia Christmas - Falliday Fest 2023

Good morning!  Today is the day my challenge goes live for the Falliday Fest event over on Splitcoaststampers.  I am one of the hostesses today, and my challenge is to create a Poinsettia Christmas card.  I love making Christmas cards, and I love the gorgeous poinsettias that we see everywhere in December, so they are a perfect match!  Come join us over in the Falliday Fest challenges on SCS - you'll have a blast!

I created today's card by placing the Poinsettias stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over a piece of white cardstock.  I spread some glittery red paste (Picket Fence Studios) over the whole thing, removed the stencil, and let the panel dry.  Meanwhile, I die cut the white poinsettia petals and the green sprigs (Rubbernecker) and used a stylus to shape the petals before I glued them together.  I added a gold pearl the center and glued the sprigs behind the poinsettia before I glued it to my stenciled panel, and then I glued the panel to a white card.  I gold-embossed the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studios onto black cardstock and then cut it out with the matching die before I glued it to my card.

There are several poinsettia stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs, and you can save some money by using this code, HollyFan10, when you check out.  Have fun shopping and I hope to see you in the Falliday Fest gallery!

Glittery Feather Fire

Good morning!  I'm in love with this Feather Fire stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I just spread some glittery blue and pink pastes over this stencil and let it dry, and WOW.  I created the sentiment by spreading the leftover paste from my palette knife onto some white cardstock scraps and let it dry before I cut it out with a die.  This stencil is just gorgeous!

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop for stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles), so go ahead and put this Feather Fire stencil in your cart.  Check out all the great October release stencils and utilize the Search feature at the top of the page if you are looking for a particular design.  Have a wonderful day!

Snow Flurries

Good morning!  There is a fun challenge going on over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog - just make a Christmas card or a wintery card and link it up.  I'm sharing this card that I made with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, one of the sponsors for this BYSHC linky party.  If you are inspired to shop for some fabulous stencils, please use this code, HollyFan10, and you'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

I placed the Flurries stencil over a deep blue card base and taped it down.  Then I spread some glittery white paste over the whole thing, removed the stencil, and set the card aside to dry.  Meanwhile, I die cut the sentiment twice from white cardstock, and lightly brushed some blue ink over one of the die cut sentiments.  I glued the white sentiment on top of the inked sentiment, offsetting it just slightly so you can see a "shadow" on the left side.  After my stenciled card was completely dry, I glued the sentiment over the glittery snowflakes.

Snowman Flurries

Good morning!  There is a fun challenge going on over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog - just make a Christmas card or a wintery card and link it up.  I'm sharing this card that I made with products from A Colorful Life Designs, one of the sponsors for this BYSHC linky party.  If you are inspired to shop for some fabulous stencils, please use this code, HollyFan10, and you'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

I created today's card by placing the 16 Circle Shadow stencil onto a white card base.  I lightly brushed some soft blue ink over the whole thing, and then I placed the Flurries stencil on top of the circles stencil and brushed a darker blue color over that.  I removed both stencils and stamped the sentiment with black ink in between the snowy circles on the left side.  Then I stamped the snowman from the Spread Love stamp set with black ink, colored it with Copic markers, and fussy cut it with some sharp scissors.  I adhered this snowman with some foam tape next to the sentiment.

Glittery Leaves in Autumn Colors

There is a fun Falliday Fest challenge over on Splitcoaststampers hosted by my friend Lee today.  She wants to see autumn colors with glitter, so of course, I had to play in this challenge.  LOL

I pulled out this Layered Fall Foliage stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and placed the first stencil over some white cardstock.  I brushed on three different colors - Cayenne, Fig, and Oceanside (C9 inks).  I removed the stencil and placed down the second stencil and taped it down.  Then I spread some glittery Gold Pops of Color over the entire stencil, removed the stencil, and set the panel aside to dry.  I fussy cut one of the leaves and adhered it with some foam tape and then added the sentiment, also adhered with foam tape.  This panel was then glued down to a Cayenne card base.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You'll save 10% off your entire order, excluding bundles, so have fun adding all the stencils to your cart!  :-)  You will definitely need this Layered Fall Foliage stencil and you need to see all the great new holiday stencils in the October release.

Want to play along in the Falliday Fest challenges?  Head on over to Splitcoaststampers and see all the great challenges in the Falliday Fest forum.  I'll be hosting my own challenge on Monday, October 30, so be sure to come on back to check that out!  Have a great day!!

Fluttering Snow Greetings

Good morning!  There is a fun challenge going on over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog - just make a Christmas card or a wintery card and link it up.  I'm sharing this card that I made with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, one of the sponsors for this BYSHC linky party.  If you are inspired to shop for some fabulous stencils, please use this code, HollyFan10, and you'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

I used the same stencil that I used on yesterday's Groovy card, the Fluttering Snow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, but this time I just placed it right on top of a white card base.  I sponged some pink and purple inks all over and removed the stencil.  I added some Card Bling (freebie sequins with every order from A Colorful Life Designs) to the snowflakes and then added the die cut sentiment with some foam tape.

Groovy Christmas

Good morning!  There is a fun challenge going on over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog - just make a Christmas card or a wintery card and link it up.  I'm sharing this card that I made with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, one of the sponsors for this BYSHC linky party.  If you are inspired to shop for some fabulous stencils, please use this code, HollyFan10, and you'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

Today's card is funky and groovy and totally psychedelic!  I had a total blast making this one, even if it wasn't what I had intended to create when I first started.  LOL!  I started by randomly brushing some inks onto some white cardstock - lime green, hot pink, and purple.  Then I placed the Fluttering Snow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over my inky panel and sponged the same purple ink over the entire stencil.  This is like a Joseph's Coat technique except with a stencil.  After I saw these funky colors, I consulted my hubby for an appropriate sentiment, and he suggested "Have a Groovy Christmas."  I dig it, man!

I placed the Tall Skinny Tree stencil from A Colorful Life Designs onto some green cardstock and brushed some green ink over this.  I removed the stencil, covered my inky tree with some sticky notes, and placed the stencil down again in a different spot.  I repeated this process several times to get a forest of trees on my green panel.  Then I splattered some white paint over the whole thing before I added the sentiment and adhered this to a white card base.

I placed the new Flurries stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over a white card base and taped it down.  Then I very lightly brushed some soft blue ink just in the center, letting it fade out as I got closer to the edges of the card.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added this adorable 3D bear sticker for a quick and easy holiday card.

Season's Greetings Square Characters

Good morning!  There is a fun challenge going on over on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog - just make a Christmas card or a wintery card and link it up.  I'm starting off this fun week with this card that I made with products from A Colorful Life Designs, one of the sponsors for this BYSHC linky party.  If you are inspired to shop for these products, please use this code, HollyFan10, and you'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

I used the following products from A Colorful Life Designs:

I started by placing the Candy Stripes stencil over some white cardstock, and I carefully sponged a gorgeous cranberry red ink over the whole thing.  On another piece of white cardstock, I used a fine black Sharpie marker to trace three inside squares of the 16 Square Shadow stencil, and then I used sticky notes to mask off each square so I could stamp the three characters from the Spread Love set.  I colored the characters with Copic markers, adhered this panel to some black cardstock, and then adhered this to the striped panel.  I carefully stamped the sentiment with black ink and then adhered the whole thing to a black card base.

Iridescent Embossed Christmas Trees

There's a new challenge over on Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero, and they want to see Christmas/holiday cards with at least one Hero Arts product.  I just received the new iridescent embossing powders from Hero Arts and I had to try them out.  I embossed four panels of black cardstock with each of the powders and die cut all of them with the Tree Pattern Cover Plate from Hero Arts.  I cut one more black panel with the same Tree Pattern die and then glued that to a card base.  Then I did a little die-cut inlay by placing some of the embossed die cut trees into the openings on my plain black panel.  I also embossed the sentiment with the Iridescent Copper powder and trimmed it down and adhered it to the card with foam tape.

I've used the following products from Hero Arts, just in case you're interested:

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe Shaker

Good morning!  Here's a fun little shaker card with holiday flair!

I was playing with my gel press plate, and I brayered some light green ink and a darker green ink over the gel plate.  Then I smooshed a white cardstock panel over the brayered inks and pulled the paper off.  I love that ombre green background!  Next, I placed the new Meet Me stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over the ombre green panel and brushed a darker green ink over the stencil.

To make the shaker card, I wrapped some plastic packaging over the front of the card and taped it on three sides on the back.  I held open the untaped edge and poured in some sequins and then taped that end to close the shaker.  Then I simply glued this down to a white card base and spent a few minutes shaking this up!  LOL

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You'll save 10% off your entire order when you use the code, so grab this Meet Me stencil and check out the fabulous October release.  Have a wonderful day!

Mixed Media Ombre Feather Fire

Have y'all seen this gorgeous Feather Fire stencil from A Colorful Life Designs?  It's a stunning stencil, and I did a little mixed media with it on my card today.

I placed this Feather Fire stencil over a cream card and taped it down.  After I brushed on some beige, rust, and brown inks, I then inked up a very small text stamp and stamped in some of the larger stencil openings.  Then I removed the stencil, placed my card in a box, and splattered some gold paint over the whole thing.  While that was drying, I brushed some beige ink over a small piece of cardstock, stamped the sentiment, and die cut it.  When the gold paint was completely dry, I adhered the sentiment to the card.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order, so grab this Feather Fire stencil and check out the rest of the fabulous October stencils.  This is a great time to get started on your holiday cards!

Green Squares Poinsettia

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a very different kind of card with the new Beautiful Poinsettia stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I decided to go outside the box and try it with green instead of the traditional pink or red.  I started by placing the new 16 Square Shadow stencil over a white card and I brushed some pale green ink over the entire card.  Then I removed the squares stencil, placed the Beautiful Poinsettia down and brushed a darker green ink over that.  I love that contrast between the pale green squares and the dark green poinsettia.  Finally, I added the sentiment and some glittery gold and green dots all over the card.

WCMD Sunflower Birthday

Today is World Card Making Day, and I actually made a card from start to finish in just 30 minutes!  The washi tapes and matching dies from Pinkfresh Studio make it so quick and easy to add some gorgeous florals on your card.

I started by cutting some of these gorgeous scalloped rectangle frames from Pinkfresh Studio from white cardstock.  I cut two of these and glued them together.  Then I glued some of the die cut sunflowers above and below the scalloped frame.  I added some foam tape to the back of the flowers and the frame and adhered this to a mini slimline card.  Then I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with the matching die, adhered the sentiment with foam tape, and then glued some metallic gold pearls to the card.

I'm entering this into the Pinkfresh challenge to make a card for WCMD.  The Pinkfresh Studio products I used are:

Mini Slimline Stitched Scallop Rectangle
Sunflowers Fall Version washi tape and die
Perfect Sentiments stamp and die
Metallic Gold Pearls

Holiday Delight Gingerbread Men

Good morning!  Here is my second card that I created with the new Layered Gingerbread Men stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  Aren't they cute??  This card has more of a masculine feel so it's perfect to send to someone who doesn't care for ribbons or glitter or rainbows.

I placed the Layered Gingerbread Men stencil (the body outlines) over some white cardstock and brushed some gingerbread ink over it.  Then I removed this stencil and placed the second one down (the eyes, mouth and buttons) and I spread some white paste over this.  I removed the stencil and set this panel aside to let that paste dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it down and added a green layer behind that.  After my gingerbread panel was dry, I trimmed it down and added a black layer behind that and then glued it to a red card and added the sentiment with some foam tape.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order, excluding bundles, so go ahead and grab the Layered Gingerbread Men stencil.  The October release is full of wonderful holiday stencils, so check that out.  I love all the new stencils that were released this month!

There is a fun texture on this card from the white paste, and I wish you were here so you could feel it.  Come on back tomorrow and I'll share a fun card that I created with the leftovers that I trimmed from today's stenciled panel.

Official North Pole Taste Tester

Good morning!  Here's another fun Christmas card to put a smile on your face today.  The new Layered Gingerbread Men stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is a must-have for your creative stash. It's so cute and you can make them any color you want.  I paired this with the larger gingerbread man from the Baking Spirits Bright stencil (previously released) - it's a perfect match!

I placed the new Layered Gingerbread Men stencil (the body outlines) on a kraft card and brushed some soft brown ink over that.  I removed the first stencil and then placed down the second one (the eyes, mouth, and buttons) and inked it up with a darker brown ink.  I set this card aside and pulled out some white cardstock and placed the Baking Spirits Bright stencil over this.  I inked up the body outline with the soft brown ink and then moved the stencil so I could ink up the details with a darker brown ink.  I fussy cut this larger gingerbread man with scissors and then adhered him to a burgundy oval layered with a white scalloped oval.  I stamped the sentiment (Catherine Pooler) and adhered it to the center of the larger gingerbread man.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order, excluding bundles, so check out all the great new October release stencils.  Put this Layered Gingerbread Men stencil set and the Baking Spirits Bright stencil into your cart as well as all the other stencils that are on your wish list.

I can't wait to show you the other two cards I created with this Layered Gingerbread Men stencil.  They are so cute!  Come on back tomorrow and Sunday and I'll share those with you.  Have a great day!

Beautiful Rays Hugs

Good morning!  This new Beautiful Rays stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is so pretty!  I kept this card pretty simple because I just had to show off the gorgeous pattern of this stencil.

I placed the Beautiful Rays stencil over some white cardstock and brushed some soft purple ink over the whole panel.  After I removed the stencil, I trimmed the panel down to about 2 inches by 5.5 inches and glued it to a white card.  I die cut the sentiment from a darker purple cardstock and glued that down and then I added some Card Bling - free sequins that I got with my order from A Colorful Life Designs.

Think of all the color combos you could do with this card.  You can even change out the sentiment to a birthday, anniversary, holiday, or a thank you.  The possibilities are endless!

Good morning!  I'm back to share a quick and easy Christmas card with y'all today.  A Colorful Life Designs just released their new October stencils and most of these new stencils are Christmas and winter themed.  I love creating Christmas cards so I have a lot to share with you this month!

For this card, I placed the new Fetching Snowflake stencil onto a white card and very carefully brushed some blue ink around the stencil while holding it down with my other hand.  After I removed the stencil, I stamped the sentiment with the same blue ink and then I added some Card Bling (a fun freebie that comes with every order from A Colorful Life Designs).  This card is going to be easy to mail with just one first-class postage stamp.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order of stamps and stencils (excluding bundles), so check out the new October release.  You will find the Fetching Snowflake stencil HERE.  Have a wonderful day!
