Prickly

Have you been a little prickly lately?  LOL  Isn't this a fun stamp for those times you want to send a "So Sorry" card to someone?  I stamped this Prickly stamp from Technique Junkies with some green ink (Shady Lane Versafine Clair) and let it dry.  There were some watercolor paints left over on my palette from a previous coloring session which were mostly blues and yellows and a little bit of brown.  I mixed them all together and got this wonderful unique shade of green, so I used that to color my cactus.  I found some old papers in my stash that complemented this stamp so I used those for the background.

Sunflower Dreams

Hi everyone!  I fell in love with this sunflower as soon as I saw it, and I had so much fun coloring this.  I stamped this Framed Sunflower  from Technique Junkies with Pinecone Versafine Clair ink onto some watercolor paper and let it dry.  Then I let loose and had fun watercoloring this with Daniel Smith watercolor paints.  It actually took me a couple of days to finish because I had to stop and let some layers dry before I could add more color.  I added the little sentiment from the Dream, Hope, Wish, Wonder set (Technique Junkies) and popped it up with some dimensional tape.

Mandala Dreams - stencilbop Day 10

I'm back with another card for today's stencilbop challenge.  The prompt for today is Paste, but I decided to take it a little bit further and use glitter paste.  :-)  I do love my glitter!

I pulled out some shimmery Glitter Kiss paste in this yummy Ice Blue Kiss color and spread it over the Layered Mandala Top stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  Instead of applying the paste to white paper, I used black paper.  The glitter paste really pops when it is applied to a darker paper.  I set this aside to dry and spread some more of the Glitter Kiss paste onto some scrap paper and let that dry.  Then I die cut the "dream" from the glittered scrap paper and adhered it below the gorgeous Mandala.  The "dare to" was printed from my computer, so I cut it out with scissors and adhered it above the glittery "dream."

Rose Quilt - stencilbop Day 7

I'm playing along with the stencilbop challenge this month, and the prompt for Day 7 is Quilt.  I immediately thought about my quilt dies from PTI and I pulled out the Teeny Harlequin stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  The tiny diamonds from this stencil are a good size to go with this quilt die.

I brushed some mint green ink over the Teeny Harlequin stencil and repeated this with a darker green color onto another piece of paper.  Then I used the quilt die to cut the dark green frame, the stenciled mint diamonds, and the stenciled dark green diamonds.  I played around with different patterns and color combos and settled upon alternating colors.  The sentiment was stamped with the same dark green ink and I added a layered die cut flower to the center of the quilt.

Beach Fusion - stencilbop Day 5

I'm playing along with some of the stencilbop challenges, and the prompt for Day 5 is Fusion.  I decided to "fuse" three stencils together to create a fun little beach scene.  All these stencils are from A Colorful Life Designs, and I used Half Sun, Currents, and Shells on this card.

To make the shells, I started by spraying some inks over the Shells stencil and I let them dry completely before I cut them out.  I used a random combination of Lemon Zest Dylusions, Distress Spiced Marmalade, Distress Abandoned Coral, and Distress Picked Raspberry sprays.

After I cut out all my shells, I brushed some yellow and orange inks over the Half Sun stencil on the top part of my white paper.  Then I masked that off and brushed some pale blue ink over the Currents stencil.  I masked off the blue sea and sponged some kraft ink at the bottom of my card for that sandy beach look.  The seashells were glued to the bottom on the "sand" and I added the sentiment (Technique Junkies) which is popped up with dimensional tape.

Blue Hello - stencilbop Day 3

Happy Saturday!  I'm playing in a fun new challenge using stencils and this is the card I made for today's stencilbop prompt - Line.  I immediately thought of this gorgeous new Watercolor Stripes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and brushed some pale blue ink over this stencil.  The background is so pretty, and I didn't want to cover it up, so I added a flower and a small sentiment and some bubbles (iridescent pearls).

If you'd like to play along, you can find the challenge here - Stencilbop Challenge

There are so many gorgeous new stamps in this release.  First up, I used the awesome Desert Landscape Border.  I stamped it with black ink and then used ink blending brushes (new in the store!!) to add some bold colors for a brilliant sunset.  The stars were added with a white gel pen.  The sweet little sentiment is called Beautiful Ride, also from Technique Junkies.

My second card uses the Revolution stamp.  I sprinkled some Colorburst watercolor powders onto watercolor paper and then spritzed them with water and they exploded into some wonderful colors of red, orange, yellow, and blue.  The lady was stamped with black ink and I added some colorful sequins and rhinestones.  Instead of adhering this to the center of a card, I wanted to be different so I glued it down into the corner of a black card.

Have fun checking out what the rest of the team has created with the new August release.
