Lacy Birthday Wishes

Good morning!  I've got a fun birthday card to share with you today.  I used the new Pointed Lace stencil from A Colorful Life Designs on this card.  This Pointed Lace stencil is very delicate with all those fine lines, and I wanted to be gentle with this.  So I placed some watercolor paper into an old cardboard box, placed the Pointed Lace stencil over the paper, and then very gently sprayed some pink distress spray over that.

I carefully removed the stencil and let the inky paper dry completely.  I love how the fine lines of the stencil are clearly visible and you see some distressed areas here and there.  It's such a fun contrast!

I die cut the stenciled piece with a stitched rectangle die and adhered this over a scalloped rectangle.  I die cut the sentiment and adhered that near the bottom along with a few Card Bling pieces.  The Card Bling is a fun little bag of sequins that comes as a freebie with every A Colorful Life Designs order.

You can save 10% when you use this code, HollyFan10, at A Colorful Life Designs (excluding bundles).  See all the great stencils that were released this month HERE.  The Pointed Lace stencil is HERE, and you can always click on the Categories button to browse around for more stencils.  Have a great day!

Easter Bunny Wishes

Good morning!  I can't believe it is time to start thinking about Easter, already.  It's been so cold here and it feels like it's still January!  But Easter will, indeed, be here in a few weeks, so here is a super cute Easter Bunny card to share with you.

This sweet new Layered Bunny Faces stencil set from A Colorful Life Designs has two stencils in it.  One is the head and ears outline and the second one has the little dots for the eyes and noses.  I placed the first stencil down onto some kraft cardstock and sponged some white pigment ink on and let it dry.  Then I placed the second stencil over the white bunnies and sponged some permanent black ink on.  To complete the bunny faces, I used a tiny piece of sponge all squished up in my fingers, dabbed it into some pink distress oxide ink, and carefully dabbed it onto the ears.

For the sentiment, I stamped the "Happy" with black ink.  Then I die cut the "Easter" (Taylored Expressions) from white cardstock and glued it below the stamped "Happy."  To finish off the card, I added a few pink sequins from the Card Bling that was included as a freebie surprise with my last order from A Colorful Life Designs. I love this fun Card Bling!

Please use my code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  This will help you save 10% off your entire order of stencils and stamps (excluding bundles).  You can check out all the great new stencils and stamps for this month HERE.  The Layered Bunny Faces stencils are adorable and I can't wait to mail this card.  Have a wonderful day!

Foiled Miss You Vines

Good morning!  Today I have a sweet and simple stenciled card to share with you.  I used the new Trailing Vines stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and blended some green and aqua inks over the stencil.  I let the panel sit for about five minutes so the ink could dry completely, and then I sprayed it very lightly with some Pixie Spray.  I have some pieces of transfer foil that are leftovers from other projects, and instead of tossing them, I save them for things like this.  I pressed some silver foil over the panel, and when I lifted up the foil, some of it stuck to the adhesive (Pixie Spray) on the panel.  I repeated this all over the panel until I was happy with the coverage.  The sentiment is a pre-foiled and pre-cut piece that I brushed some aqua ink onto and I adhered it to the panel with foam tape.  Then I glued the panel down to a white card base.

Mauve Floral Comfort

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this card that I created with the new Outline Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save).

I taped the Outline Flowers stencil to some watercolor paper and placed it into a cardboard box.  Then I sprayed some Distress Spray Stains over it - Tattered Rose up at the top right edge, and then Seedless Preserves at the bottom.  I carefully peeled the stencil off the paper and then set the panel aside to dry completely.  Meanwhile, I stamped and cut the sentiment.  Once the stenciled panel was dry, I glued it to a white card base and then adhered the sentiments.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles), so check out all the great new stencils for March HERE.  You can find the Outline Flowers stencil HERE.  Looking for more floral stencils?  There's hundreds of great flower-themed stencils HERE.  Have fun shopping!

You Make My World Happy

Good morning!  If you've been reading my blog this week, you might have noticed that I've been using watercolor powders on all my new release projects this month.  I've just had so much fun making a mess with these powders, and today's card is no exception.  I think this one might be the wildest of them all.  Hahaha!

I placed the gorgeous new Kaleidoscope Flower from A Colorful Life Designs over some watercolor paper and taped it down to my glass mat.  Then I spread some white stencil paste over the stencil, carefully lifted it up, and let the paste dry completely.  Then I pulled out some Colorburst powders (Orchid and Fuchsia), sprinkled them all over the paper, and misted them with water.  The colors just exploded after the water hit them, and I let the colors pool and run and blend.  After the panel dried completely, you can see how the colors settled down into the paper so you can see the beautiful stenciled flower.  I love that wild fusion of the reds, pinks, and purples all over this card - it really does befit the Kaleidoscope name of this stencil.  I adhered this panel to a card base and added the die cut and stamped sentiments.  Those red sequins are from the fun little packages of Card Bling that came with my order from A Colorful Life Designs (if you need another reason to go shopping hee hee hee!).

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles), so go check out the great new stencils that were released this month.  You can find the Kaleidoscope Flower stencil HERE, and if you're looking for more floral stencils, you can browse through all of them HERE.  If you've come here from my Instagram post, please be sure to leave a comment on Instagram and go through the rest of the hop in order to be entered into the giveaway.  Have a wonderful day!

Colorburst Vines

Good morning!  I've had so much fun playing with the watercolor powders in my stash, and there are times when you just never know what you will get until it's completely dry.  That was the case with my card today.

I placed the new Trailing Vines stencil from A Colorful Life Designs onto some watercolor paper and taped it down.  After I spread some white stencil paste over the whole thing, I removed the stencil and let it dry completely.  Then I pulled out some Colorburst powders (Lime Green and Phthalo Green) and sprinkled them all over the panel, spritzed it with water, and let it dry.  I glued this panel down to a white card base, and then I added the die cut sentiment.  How COOL is this?  The watercolor powders dried with the darkest colors concentrated in the centers of each leafy area, and they look so much like the dark veins you see on the leaves.  I'm just in awe of how this one turned out!

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles), so take a look at all the great stencils that were released this month HERE.  This beautiful Trailing Vines stencil can be found HERE, and you can see all the great floral stencils HERE.  Have a great day!

Just Saying Hello

Hello!  Have you seen all the fabulous new stencils that A Colorful Life Designs released yesterday?  I swooned over all the gorgeous new floral stencils, and I used one of them on today's card.

I placed the beautiful new Flower Garden stencil over some watercolor paper, taped it down, and spread some white stencil paste over that.  Once the stencil paste was completely dry, I sprinkled some Dot Blue Brushos over the panel.  Brushos are watercolor powders, and when you get them wet, they explode with brilliant colors.  That's what happened when I misted the powders on this panel.  The blue color exploded and there are hints of purple and pink among all the shades of blue on this card.  Isn't that fun?  While the stenciled panel was drying, I stamped the sentiment with a purple ink to pick up the fun little hints of purple in the background.  After the panel was completely dry, I adhered the sentiment with foam tape and glued the panel down onto a white card base.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You can find the Flower Garden stencil HERE.  Check out all the great new stencils HERE and the huge variety of floral stencils HERE.  You'll save 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles) when you add the discount code, HollyFan10, at checkout.

You Are On Fire

Good morning!  There's a new release at A Colorful Life Designs today!  Not only do we have a bunch of gorgeous new floral and Easter stencils, but there is also a brand new stamp set!  I used that new stamp set, called Happy, along with a new stencil on my card today.

The new Simple Flowers stencil is gorgeous, and I placed this on some watercolor paper and taped it down on the sides.  Then I spread some white stencil paste over the stencil, removed the stencil, and let the piece dry completely.  Next, I pulled out my Brushos, which are very colorful watercolor powders, and sprinkled some Gamboge (yellow) and Rose Red Brushos all over the stenciled watercolor paper.  I misted the powders with water and let the colors dissolve in the liquid and pool and run all over the paper.

While my stenciled panel was drying, I stamped the "Congrats" from the new Happy stamp set with some black ink onto some white cardstock.  Then I stamped the "You Are On Fire" with some Versamark ink onto some black cardstock, covered that with white embossing powder, and then melted the powder with a heat tool.  I trimmed both pieces down and glued them to my dried watercolor/stenciled panel and adhered that to a black layer and a red card base.  See those red sequins on the card?  Those are from the fun Card Bling that Mary Kay has been sending with our orders from A Colorful Life Designs.  I love those fun little packages of bling!
