Older and Fabulous in Magenta

I've got a bright magenta card to share with y'all today.  Did you see this More Fabulous stamp from this month's Technique Junkies release?  I stamped this with permanent black ink and let it dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped it again onto a sticky note and cut out the lady to make a mask.  I placed the mask over the stamped lady and then the Messy Diamond Grid stencil over the whole piece.  The ink blending brushes which I used are perfect for brushing magenta ink over the stencil.  I also inked up a small strip with the same magenta ink and adhered it under the lady's feet.  This lady is bold and bright and fabulous!

Crackle Hugs

Are you enjoying your weekend?  I'm sharing this fun experiment I've been working on all week.  I pulled out my new Pinwheels stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and taped it down over some watercolor paper.  I then applied some crackle paste over the stencil and let it dry overnight.  The next day, I sprayed some colors that my mom gave me for Christmas (Wplus9 Pure Color sprays) and set it aside to dry.  The colors I used are Sweet Gelato, Lake House, and Bloomsberry.

After the piece was dry, I wanted to emphasize the lines between the crackled areas.  I poured some of the blue Lake House spray out onto a palette and used a paintbrush to apply this blue color to the "grout lines."  This really helped to set off the crackled areas.  Those crackles are just so fun!  Here is a close up look at those crackles:

I had no idea how this project was going to turn out.  It's all part of the fun of experimentation.  I love how this looks and I can't wait to try it again with another Colorful Life Designs stencil.  Hmmmm which one should I use??

Fabulous Peony

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Did you go through the team blog hop on Saturday?  All the artwork with the new February 2020 stamps are awesome!  I used the new Day Over Fabulous sentiment on this card today.  The Peony Collage background was inked up with Distress Oxide inks (Raspberry, Coral, and Persimmon) and stamped onto white cardstock.  Then I used the Raspberry Distress Oxide ink to stamp the Day Over Fabulous sentiment.  Some rhinestones were added to the center of the flower and the whole thing was adhered to a white card base.

All of the February 2020 New Release stamps are 15% off through February 8th.  No codes needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.  You can save an extra 10% (for a total of 25% off) all of the new February 2020 stamps by using my code, TJ10Holly, when you check out.  Have fun shopping!

For my first card today, I've used the new Best Things in Life stamp.  I stamped this with black ink and made sure it was completely dry before moving on.  Then I used the ink blending brushes and applied several colors of distress ink all over - Bundled Sage, Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, and Weathered Wood.  After I achieved the ink coverage I wanted, I flicked water all over the piece and let it dry.  Finally, I stamped the words with with the Evergreen Bough distress ink, cut them out, and adhered them over the words from the initial stamping.

For my second card, I stamped the gorgeous new More Fabulous stamp with black ink and adhered it to a scarlet red card base.  I then pulled out my stash of buttons and had a great time adhering buttons all around the stamped image for a fun border.

For my last card today, I pulled out my well-loved Vintage Daisy Collage background and stamped it with black ink.  Then I pulled out my Distress Stain sprays and played with a combination of purple, blue, and green sprays.  While this background was drying, I stamped the new A Sister Just Gets It with black ink and cut it out with a circle die.  After the background was tied with purple ribbon, I adhered the Sister Gets It circle so that it was offset on the left side.  I cut off the excess and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.
