Vellum Leaves

Hi friends!  I am the guest designer over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog this month, and this is the project I posted over there this past Friday.  I had this color combo in my head, and I didn't want to introduce any green tones, so I came up with this idea to use vellum for all the leaves and flourishes.  You can check out my blog post over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog to see which dies I used for this card.  :-)

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Flirty Birthday Cake

Do you know anyone who has a birthday coming up? This card would be perfect, don't you think?

I pulled out the Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad and pulled out some fun papers for my cake layers. I cut out each layer of the Petite Cake die from a different sheet of paper. I then cut out the Scalloped Cake Stand from a natural white cardstock. I only needed the largest cake stand, so I set the two smaller ones aside.

An oval was cut from Kraft cardstock and then I used the natural white cardstock to cut a matching scallop oval from the Classic Scalloped Ovals Large set. I assembled the cake stand and the cake layers on the kraft oval. The small and medium cake layers were popped up with Joy Foam Pads.

I used the cake layers as inspiration to create my background, so I cut the same papers from the Vintage Bliss paper pad. I adhered the background papers to a sheet of natural white cardstock and then adhered that to a Kraft card base. The ovals with the cake was adhered with Joy Foam Pads in the center of the card. I then cut out the Happy and the Birthday dies(Cheery Lynn Designs) from Kraft cardstock and adhered them above and below the birthday cake.

Pink Daisies - Sketch challenge on CCNS blog

Hi folks! There is a new challenge on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog this week, and this time we have a fun sketch for y'all. I hope you play along because this is a great sketch - see the sketch below.

I used a circle like you see in the sketch, but you don't have to do that. You could use an oval, a square, or even hearts instead of the circle shape. I just happened to use a circle because that's what fit my colored image the best.

I used the following products from Classy Cards 'n Such on my card:

Prairie Chic 6x6 paper pad
Daisy Bouquets stamp set (Inky Antics)
Yellow Viva Pearl Pen
Country Girl border die (Cheery Lynn Designs) - the little green strip on the left side

I colored the cute cup of daisies with Copic markers and then I used the Yellow Viva Pearl Pen on the centers of the flowers. I cut out the Country Girl border die with the green gingham paper from the Prairie Chic paper pad and then I added the sentiment below the image. It's a sweet little card I can send to a dear friend.

I hope you play along in the challenge!  Any time you want to order supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such, remember to use this code, Holly-10, when you check out.  You'll save 10% off your entire order.

Raining Roses

Hi friends! This week's challenge on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog is "Think Pink." For my card, I went with a Valentine theme and lots of pink colors.

First of all, I stamped the adorable Raining Roses image (Wild Rose Studio) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto white cardstock, and then I colored the image with Copic markers. I cut it out with an oval die and then matted it with a matching scallop oval in a pale pink cardstock.

Next, I cut some paper from the Love Letters 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to a white card base. I affixed the sweet little bears image with Joy Foam Pads to the center of the card. The Valentine sentiment, from Hugs & Kisses Sentiments (JustRite), was stamped on a small strip of white cardstock and then adhered below the bears. Lastly, some Mother of Pearl rhinestones were affixed to the corners.

I hope you play along in this Think Pink challenge! You could win this sweet Raining Roses stamp just for playing along. Pull out all your pink papers and markers and embellishments and have fun! Periwinkle Hopes

I used a sentiment from the Old Tea Rose stamp set (Flourishes) and a bunch of Cheery Lynn Designs dies to create this card. I also pulled out the Periwinkle Twinkling H2O from the Carnivale set to color the Polynesian Sails Oval die.  I used the Twinkling H2Os Tutorial (Aug/Sept 2003 issue) from the Technique Junkies Newsletter to guide me on how to paint with the Periwinkle Twinkling H2O.  You can see the gorgeous shimmer in the picture below.

The Cheery Lynn Designs dies that I used are:

Polynesian Sails Oval
Chicken Wire
Chrysanthemum Strip
Fanciful Flourish
Rose, Miniature
Sweet William Strip

It was so much fun to mix and match all the different flowers and colors. I hope you play around with your dies and see what different combos you can come up with. :-)  You can save money when you shop at Classy Cards 'n Such by using this code, Holly-10, when you check out.
