CAS434 Gold Birthday Balloons

Howdy!  Did you enjoy your weekend!  I ended up making more chocolate zucchini bread and our first batch of salsa with the first tomatoes from the garden.  Mmmmm..........

There is a new CAS434 challenge up over on SCS today.  Kia wants us to use balloons and have some sparkle on our clean and simple cards.  I cut some balloons out of gold glitter paper and adhered them to a Dapper Denim card base.  I drew the strings with a white gel pen and then added the die cut sentiment.

All these dies are from Frantic Stamper.  I used the Big Balloons and the Brush Script Happy Birthday sets.  I love how they are the perfect size for using on A2 cards.  :-)

I hope you have a wonderful week!  I will have an Art Neko card to share with you in a couple of days, so come on back and visit with me again.

Shimmery Watercolor Peacock card

I've saved the best for last, as this will be my last posting as a Guest Designer for Frantic Stamper. I have truly enjoyed my time as a guest designer, and I have loved playing with all the dies and stamps from Frantic Stamper. Fran is an AWESOME person to work for, and I thank her and Kathy for this wonderful opportunity.

The card I am posting today is my favorite from the four months of my term. It's shimmery (SO me!!), it has peacock feathers, and it has watercoloring on it!

I stamped the gorgeous new Peacock Feathers background with Versamark ink onto some hot press watercolor paper. I then covered it with gold embossing powder and melted the powder with a heat tool. I had a blast watercoloring the feathers with some Daniel Smith watercolors in shades of blue, green, and brown.

After the watercolor paint dried, I went over the whole thing with some shimmery Lemongrass Twinkling H2O. Just look at that gorgeous shimmer! Is it any wonder that this is my favorite card?

After the Twinkling H2O layer was completely dry, I adhered this to a brown card. I cut the Brush Script Thank You from the same brown cardstock and glued the sentiment down onto the peacock background.

Peacock Get Well card

Did you know that Fran (the owner of Frantic Stamper) has her own line of background stamps??? I am in LOVE!!! These stamps are 6" x 6" which makes these perfect for both horizontal and vertical cards. I have to admit, I am a background stamp collector. :-) I love using background stamps, and this card is one of the easiest ways you can use these stamps.
I inked up the gorgeous new Peacock Feathers background stamp with Versamark and stamped it onto some dark blue cardstock. Then I covered the blue cardstock with clear embossing powder and melted the powder with a heat tool. You can see the gorgeous peacock feathers on my card.
I cut this embossed background with the largest Deckled Square die and adhered it to a pale gray card. I cut the sentiment using the brand new Get Well Soon dies and staggered the placement of the words for a fun effect. This card will be perfect for a guy who doesn't want a bunch of teddy bears or flowers. :-)

Big Birthday Balloons

Hi again!  I have another fun birthday balloon card using some Frantic Stamper dies to share with you. This time, I sponged some Peacock Feathers distress ink onto white cardstock for a soft background. Then I cut out the Big Balloons in shades of yellow, pink, and orange. The strings were cut from white cardstock and threaded through the little notches at the bottom of the balloons.
For the sentiment, I sponged the same Peacock Feathers distress ink very heavily onto some white cardstock and then I cut it out with the new Brush Script Happy Birthday dies. I love this sentiment! The brush script is gorgeous and the words are the perfect size for putting on your cards.

Balloon Birthday

Hi folks! I created this fun birthday card using some of the new dies that were just released at Frantic Stamper. Don't you love those fun balloons? I cut them out from patterned paper and glued them down to a black card. The strings were drawn with a white gel pen.

The "Birthday" die cut is from the new Brush Script Happy Birthday die set. I used the Mattie Thin Upper Alphabet to spell out the "Happy" and glued them onto the balloons for a fun effect.

Grampa Bi-plane card

Hi again! I'm posting another Frantic Stamper DT card, and this card is for my Grampa for Father's Day. Ever since I was little, I've spelled his name as Grampa, and when I would write letters, I would call him Pa for short. :-)
Grampa flew in airplanes for the Navy in WWII, so I thought it would be fun to give him a card with an old-timey kind of airplane on it. I used the Bi-plane die (09489) and cut it from kraft cardstock. I used Copic markers to color it in masculine hues of blue, gray, and black. I added some clouds in the background from the Soaring Paper Airplane set (10165) and I added "GRAMPA" across the bottom with letters cut from the Mattie Thin Upper Alphabet set (09261).

Have you got your Father's Day cards ready?  Go check out the Dads and Grads release (April 2017) over at Frantic Stamper for some great ideas!

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge card

Hi everyone!  The Frantic Stamper design team is playing along with the folks over at Cupcake Inspirations for this week's challenge.  The inspiration picture is gorgeous, and the colors are orchid, pink, and spring green.  I decided to do a little watercoloring for my card today.

I found some spring green ink, and I smooshed it onto my craft mat.  I added a little water with a paint brush and loosely brushed it onto some watercolor paper.  Then I cut out the 09166 Solid Spring Sprig from Frantic Stamper from some white cardstock.  One I left white, and the other two were watercolored with some pink ink and some purple/orchid ink.  I also cut out the 09197 Small Thanks with Matting and watercolored that with the purple/orchid ink.

After my green watercolor background was dry, I cut it out with the stitched rectangle die from the Blueprints 20 set (MFT).  I glued the three leafy sprigs down onto this piece and then I adhered the small "thanks."  This watercolored creation was glued to a purple/orchid card base.

This is a fun and CAS (Clean And Simple) card - just my style!  :-)  Come check out what the other folks have created for this challenge over on the Cupcake Inspirations blog.

Spitfire Dad card

Are you ready for Father's Day? With the fabulous new Dads and Grads release from Frantic Stamper, I've got my card ready to go. :-)
I started by sprinkling some Navy and Royal blue Infusions powders onto some white cardstock and then I misted that with some water. After it dried, I glued a strip of blue cardstock across the piece. Then I cut it out with the Deckled Squares die (10105). LOVE these deckled squares!! They are great for masculine cards.
For the airplane, I used the awesome Spitfire die (09490) and cut it out from scrap cardstock. I went over the whole thing with Autumn Bronze gilding wax and buffed it to a nice shine. This gilding wax makes these planes look like real vintage metal - so cool! I cut out this Spitfire again from blue cardstock and glued it behind my "metal" plane so that the blue would show up in the holes.
I used the same gilding wax on the die cut letters. These letters were cut from Frantic Stamper's Mattie Thin Upper Alphabet set (09261). After I buffed the wax on these letters, I glued them down onto the small blue strip.

Friends and Wild Roses

Howdy!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for Frantic Stamper. Did you fall in love with Fran's feminine dies that she released last month? I know I did. This is one of the cards I made using some of those dies.

I cut out the gorgeous new Wild Rose Corner from white cardstock and colored in all the leaves with Copic markers (listed below). I cut the flowers from patterned paper and glued them onto the corner pieces that I colored, and then I added pearls to the centers.

The sentiment was stamped and then I cut it out with the new Nested Double Ended Tags. I cut out a larger tag from green cardstock to go behind my sentiment. More pearls were added to the tags as well as to the corners of my card.

Here are the supplies from Frantic Stamper that I've used on this card:

Roses on Stone

I'm back with another Frantic Stamper card today.  Have you seen their February 2017 release of stamps and dies?  They are gorgeous, and I used their Wild Rose Corner dies (10113) on my card today.

I started by sponging some soft gray ink through a Stone Wall stencil (MFT) directly onto my white card.  I kept the gray ink very light so that my roses and my sentiment would show up.  After determining where I wanted my roses, I moved them out of the way and stamped the sentiment (Concord and 9th's Hello Lovely stamp set) with black ink.

The Wild Rose Corner dies were cut from white cardstock, and then I painted them with Mission Gold watercolor paint.  I let the first layer dry completely and then I went back over it with more paint.  The glitter in the centers of the pink flowers is from some White Blizzard Glitter Drops (Nuvo).  I shaped the flowers with my fingers and then adhered them over the base flowers with some foam tape.  This gives a wonderful dimension and texture to the card.  The finishing touch on this CAS card was to wrap some Pink Sorbet baker's twine around the top.  I tied it off with a bow and trimmed the ends off.

Go check out the latest release at Frantic Stamper.  There are more flowers and a pleated dress and even a sewing machine die there!  Have fun!

Howdy Tag

Howdy, y'all!  I'm back with another card made with Frantic Stamper's February 2017 release dies.  On this card, I cut out the smallest flower from the Stitched Blooms set (10123) several times from kraft cardstock.  I glued them down onto a kraft layer for a monochromatic background.  The bright pink strip of patterned paper is from the Kneehighs paper pad (Basic Grey).

The bright pink color of the paper is a great match for the Infusions colors that I used on the tag.  Infusions are watercolor powders that you can do a lot of fun techniques with.  I sprinkled some Sunset Beach and Are You Cerise Infusions powders onto some white cardstock and then misted them with water.  I set it aside to dry completely for several hours before cutting it.

The tag that I used is the largest die from the new Nested Double Ended Tags (10102).  I threaded some brown twine through the holes on the sides and adhered it to my card.  The Howdy sentiment is an older die from Frantic Stamper, and it is perfect for this card.  I cut it out three times and glued them together for a nice thick sentiment on top of the Infusion-ed tag.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

You Are Beautiful

Hi everyone!  I'm excited to share this card with you today.  I'm a guest designer for Frantic Stamper, and this is my first post for them.  Frantic Stamper just released some new dies for February, and I'll be sharing the cards I created using those dies.

On this card, I used the fabulous Nested Double Ended Tags dies.  I cut the smaller tag out of vanilla cardstock and the larger tag out of black cardstock.  After I stamped the sentiment on the vanilla tag, I threaded the pink ribbon through the holes on each end of both the black and the vanilla tags and adhered them together.

The gorgeous floral paper is from a paper pad I found in the Frantic Stamper store - Random Collection from Crate Paper.  I used a teeny little piece of the black and white diagonal paper on the far left side of my card.  The sentiment is from the You Are Beautiful stamp set (Impression Obsession), which I also found in the Frantic Stamper store.

Go check out their beautiful February release of dies and stamps at Frantic Stamper.  You will love them!!  Keep checking back with me here to see more of the artwork I created using their wonderful dies.
