Holly Jolly Christmas

Good morning!  Today I have a very clean and simple card to share with you.  This Layered Holly Sprig stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is just gorgeous, and it's perfect for clean and simple cards. I placed this stencil over a white card and brushed the green ink on the leaves first, then I repositioned the stencil and added the darker green veining and the red berries.  The sentiment (PTI) was stamped with some black ink and it's ready to mail.

Glittery Red Ornament

Good morning!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday.  I hope you got plenty of rest because now it's time to shop!!

The BOGO (Buy One Get One) sale is going on over at A Colorful Life Designs, and there are over 300 stencils in this sale!  The stencil that I used on my ornament above is one of them, and it's called Big Ornament.  I spread the glittery red paste over the Big Ornament stencil onto some white cardstock and let it dry.  Then I cut out a circle shape, added the gold ornament hanger and some ribbon, and glued a plain white circle to the back.  Now I can hang this on my Christmas tree or I can write on the back and use this as a gift tag.

Night Sky Flake Meltdown

Good morning!  I used the cool new Flake Meltdown stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create this night sky on my card today.  I love these large snowflakes - it makes me feel like I'm outside with big soft snowflakes falling right in front of my face.

I placed the Flake Meltdown stencil over some white cardstock and taped it down.  Then I brushed some purple ink across the top and some dark blue ink across the bottom.  I softly blended the blue into the purple for a seamless transition and then removed the stencil.  The sentiment from Papertrey Ink was stamped with Versamark and covered with white embossing powder.  After I melted the powder, I adhered this stenciled panel to a white card base.

Snowflake Ho Ho Ho

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this fun card I created with the Layered Ho Ho Ho stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  This time I chose a softer color palette of pink, gray, light green, and a darker green.  Then I die cut some snowflakes from vellum and adhered them randomly to the stenciled panel before I added the stamped "Merry Christmas" sentiment.  I love the subtle snowflakes with this softer color combo.

You're on my Mind - Acorn Branch

Good morning!  Sometimes I just have to set aside some time to play with some watercolors, and that's what I did with this card today.  I cut some watercolor paper with an acorn branch die from Hero Arts and then I pulled out various liquid watercolors from Concord and 9th and just had fun playing.  For the background, I placed the Marvelous Masks Deckled Rectangle stencil from A Colorful Life Designs onto a white card and softly brushed some Stardust ink around the edges.  I stamped the sentiment (Stampin Up) with a dark brown ink and then I glued the watercolored acorn branch to the stenciled card.

Gingerbread Cookie Garland

Good morning, y'all!  I made this fun Gingerbread Cookie Garland from the new Groovy Garland stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  This stencil has nothing at all to do with gingerbread, but I got creative and took it into cookie territory.  I brushed some gingerbread-brown ink over the Groovy Garland stencil onto a kraft card.  Then I took a white paint pen and just added dots to each "cookie" and added the sentiment after I was finished.  It was so fun to just zone out and add white dots while grooving to some Christmas music.

Peace on Earth in Orange Tones

 

Good morning!  Today's card is a non-traditional Christmas card in shades of orange.  Radical, huh?  LOL  I used the new Prim Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and brushed some pale orange ink over this stencil onto some white cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment with a darker orange ink right on top of the stenciled snowflake.  I added some fun Card Bling (a free bag of sequins with every order from A Colorful Life Designs) and adhered this to an orange card base.

This is a quick and easy card that I can mass produce in a variety of colors.  And, since the sequins are so low-profile, this card can be mailed with just one first-class stamp.  Win win!

Glittery Floral Holidays

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing the holiday version of card with the Yuletide Floral stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I used some glittery white Arctic Fox Luxe paste from Picket Fence Studios and spread it over the Yuletide Floral stencil onto some sage green cardstock.  While that was drying, I die cut and stamped the sentiment (Waffle Flower) with some white and dark green cardstocks.  I adhered the stenciled panel to a white card base and then glued the sentiment onto the card.

The glittery white flowers give this card a subtle holiday feel along with the sentiment.  It's also an "easy to mail" card so you can send this with just one first-class stamp.  I love it when I can do that!

Thinking of You in Purple Florals

Good morning!  How about a non-holiday card today?  Well, it's not a holiday card, but I did use a "holiday" stencil.  I used the new Yuletide Floral stencil from A Colorful Life Designs for the background, brushing some purple ink over the stencil so that the centers of the flowers are a little darker and the color fades out.  Then I die cut the sentiment from Concord and 9th and adhered it to the middle of the stenciled background.  I used the same purple color of cardstock to add a layer between the stenciled panel and the white card base.

Mistletoe Rainbow Christmas

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a card I made with the new Mistletoe Rainbow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I love this whimsical rainbow!  Isn't that cute?  I placed this Mistletoe Rainbow stencil over some white cardstock, and then I colored the sections by masking off each arch and brushing on some soft blue, soft green, and soft pink inks.  After I finished the rainbow, I added the stamped sentiment and adhered the panel to a soft blue card base.

You could use any color combo you like for this Mistletoe Rainbow.  How about bold reds and greens?  What about some pinks and purples?  You could even go with blues and silver or greens and copper - wouldn't that be pretty?

Golden Ring Be Merry

Good morning!  I'm back with another holiday card, and this time I've gone with elegant gold and black colors.  I used the new Star Ring stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, which was placed over a black cardstock panel.  I carefully spread some glittery gold paste (Picket Fence Studios) over the whole panel, removed the stencil, and set it aside to dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped the "Be Merry" sentiment from the new Season's Tweetings set with some Versamark ink and embossed it with some gold embossing powder.  After the melted powder cooled, I cut it with a circle die.  I glued the sentiment to the center of my stenciled panel and adhered the panel to a white card base so I could write a note inside.

Silver White Winters

Good morning!  I love this new sentiment stamp from the Season's Tweetings set from A Colorful Life Designs.  It pairs perfectly with the new Forest of Trees stencil.  I just had to have some silvery, glittery, white trees to go with this sentiment, so I placed the Forest of Trees stencil over some sage green cardstock, taped it down, and spread some Arctic Fox Luxe paste (Picket Fence Studios) over the whole panel.  After I removed the stencil, I set this panel aside to dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped this sentiment with a slightly darker green ink and added a darker green cardstock behind it.  After my stenciled panel was dry, I wrapped some silver cording around the panel and tied it into a bow before I affixed the sentiment with some foam tape.  The entire panel is glued to a white card base.

Snowman Candy Cane

Good morning!  Today's card is super cute with a sweet snowman peeking around a big bold candy cane.  I used the new Big Candy Cane stencil from A Colorful Life Designs which was placed right onto a white card base.  I stenciled some bright red ink over this stencil and then carefully removed it.  Then I stamped the sentiment on the left side and I added this die cut and colored snowman from Hero Arts to the right side of the candy cane.  It's so cute!

Rainbow Snowflake

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this fun rainbow snowflake card with y'all.  I used the brand new Prim Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and I placed it right on top of a white card base.  Using some small brushes, I applied different colors of ink over each "section" of the snowflake, keeping the colors in a rainbow pattern.  Then I added the stamped sentiment from Hero Arts with foam tape to the center.

Good morning!  There's a new release over at A Colorful Life Designs, and this one is full of stencils that are perfect for holiday cards.  I had so much fun playing with a bunch of these stencils this month!

For my card today, I used the new Layered Ho Ho Ho stencil.  This one has four layers so you can use different colors for each layer.  I gotta tell you, this one is SO fun!  The hardest part is picking the colors.  I used a cranberry red, a lime green, a forest green, and a medium blue ink for each of the stencil layers.  Then I added some die cut foliage and glued them behind the stamped sentiment.
