Sparkly Dragonfly Day

Good morning!  We had some crazy storms last night and it's a wet, gray morning today.  I need some bright and sparkly goodness to get me going, so I'm sharing this fun card full of glitter and shine using supplies from Technique Junkies.

I started by placing the Airy Dragonflies stencil (A Colorful Life Designs) over some soft blue cardstock.  Next, I spread some Izink Diamond glitter paint all over the stencil.  I used Blue Ciel and Verte Fonce (pale blue and green) glitter paint.  While the paint was drying, I stamped this Day That Sparkles sentiment with a green ink and cut it out with an oval die.  I glued the stenciled panel down to a white card base and then glued the sentiment on top of the glittery dragonflies.

Golden Pinecone Ornament - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning!  I'm back with another Christmas card to share with the Linky party going on over at the BYSHC blog.  This is a fun way to get started on your Christmas stash before the big holiday rush at the end of the year.  Just make a card (or two, or three!) and link it up on the BYSH Cardmakers blog before the deadline and you might win a prize.

For my card today, I pulled out an older stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Christmas Trio.  There are three Christmas images on this stencil, so I masked off two of them and placed the pinecone image over some gold cardstock that I had already cut with an ornament die.  I spread some golden brown glitter paste over the pinecone stencil, removed the stencil (and washed it in the sink), and let the paste dry.  Meanwhile, I ran some dark brown cardstock through an embossing folder that has pine branches on it.  I trimmed this piece down and added a cream layer behind this before I glued it to a deep merlot card base.  After my stenciled ornament was dry, I used a red Copic marker to add some color to the berries.  I used some deep merlot silk ribbon to tie a bow around the top of my ornament, and then I adhered the ornament to my card.

Snowflake Flower Christmas - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning, friends!  My sweet teammate, Von, shared a fun new challenge with me called the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Linky Challenge.  There's some fun prizes from the great sponsors up for grabs, and all you do is make a Christmas/holiday/wintery card and enter it into the challenge.  Well, I love making Christmas cards, so this was an EASY challenge for me!  LOL

I went super clean and simple for my first time playing, and I used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  There are several sponsors for this Linky challenge, and A Colorful Life Designs is one of them.  I'm so excited!  I busted out my holiday stencils and picked out this gorgeous Snowflake Flower stencil.  I offset it a bit onto a white card base and taped it down.  Then I spread some glittery turquoise paste over the stencil, peeled it off (and ran to the sink to wash it off), and let the paste on the card dry completely.  Meanwhile, I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) with black ink onto a small strip of white cardstock.  After I adhered the sentiment to the card, I trimmed off the edges.  Easy peasy!

Flower Board Birthday Card

Good morning!  Have the flowers started blooming in your area, or do you still have snow hanging around?  Here in Texas, we are definitely seeing signs of spring with all the green grass and green leaves growing on the trees and dandelions popping up here and there.

I pulled out this fun Flower Board stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and placed it over some white cardstock.  I blended some yellow ink diagonally across the top right side first and then I added some coral ink across the bottom left of the stencil.  I glued this stenciled panel to a white card base and then added the die cut sentiment (Spellbinders) to the center.  I also added some Card Bling (a fun freebie with every order from A Colorful Life Designs) in shades of yellow and orange all over the card.

Graphic Lace Hugs

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this card that I created with the Graphic Lace stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  A few days ago, I shared a blue ombre card with this same stencil, and all I could see was the tie fighters from Star Wars.  On this card, with the pink cardstock and pink stenciling, it looks more like a quilt or an abstract geometrical background.  I added the sentiment (from Taylored Expressions) and some more of that fabulous Card Bling (a great freebie with every A Colorful Life Designs order).  It's interesting how the same stencil can look so different when you change up the colors.

Ombre Tie Fighter Birthday

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a quick and easy birthday card that would be perfect for a sci-fi geek.  I see you squinting your eyes, wondering what's sci-fi about this card.  Look at that background.  I actually used a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Graphic Lace, but when I look at the pattern, I see the Tie Fighters from Star Wars!  LOL

I started by placing the Graphic Lace stencil over a white card base, and then I blended three blue inks (lightest color at the top, darkest color at the bottom) for the ombre look.  I die cut the "handsome" sentiment and shadow and glued them onto the card.  Then I stamped the "Happy Birthday" with the dark blue ink and affixed them to the card with foam tape right above the "handsome" die cut.

Hello Gorgeous Glitter Dots

Good morning!  Today's card is full of glitter and shine to wake you up on this Monday morning.  I love this new sentiment, Hello Gorgeous, from Technique Junkies.  It's the perfect greeting for cards that I want to send to my friends.

I pulled out my well-loved Zebra Dots stencil (A Colorful Life Designs) and taped it over some black cardstock.  Then I pulled out some of the Aladine Izink Diamond glitter paints (Bleu, Rose Peche, Violet) and randomly spread them over the stencil.  While the paint was drying, I stamped the Hello Gorgeous with black ink onto some white cardstock and trimmed it down.  After the stenciled panel was completely dry, I adhered it to a black card base and then glued the sentiment on top.
