Make a Wish Band Birthday

 

Good morning!  I've got a fun birthday card to share with y'all today.  Did you see the new Slimline Band Border stamp from Technique Junkies?  It's a long stamp with seven people on it and it's great for a slimline sized card.  But this stamp is so versatile, because you can very easily make it fit on a regular A2 sized card.  

I used a couple of sticky notes and placed them over the figures on the left and the right sides of the Slimline Band Border stamp.  Then I used my ink pad to ink up the five figures in the center of the stamp.  I made sure to remove the sticky notes from the stamp before I pressed the stamp onto my pale green paper.  See how easy that is?  Just a couple of sticky notes can help you transform this stamp from a slimline image to a regular A2 image.

I purposely stamped the Slimline Band Border a little higher on the green paper so I would have room for a sentiment underneath.  That space is perfect for the Hooray sentiment.  I love how it fits so well with the band border stamp.

Shiny Foiled Birthday Celebration

Here's a bright and shiny foiled birthday card to inspire you today.  I used the fun new Birthday Celebration stencil from A Colorful Life Designs with some Transfer Gel Duo paste (Thermoweb) on the pink cardstock and let it dry.  Then I placed some shiny, sparkly silver foil on the tacky paste and rubbed it with my fingers to transfer the foil to the pink cardstock.  The sentiment is from the new Simple Happy Birthday stencil, also from A Colorful Life Designs.  It's a fun and sparkly birthday card for someone who loves pink.

A Handmade Hug

 

Good morning!  Here's a sweet little card I made with a beautiful stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Wispy Vines.  I pulled out a gel print from my stash that had some blue and black paint on it, placed the Wispy Vines stencil over that, and spread some shimmery white paper glaze over the stencil.  After it dried, I glued this to a white card base and added the sentiment from Ink Blot Shop.  This is so sweet and delicate and pretty.  I can't wait to send this to someone with a little handwritten note inside.

Purple Confetti Shaker Card

Good morning!  In case you didn't know, I have gone crazy for shaker cards lately.  They are just so much fun and this particular way of making the shaker cards is so easy.

I started by stenciling the background with the new Layered Party stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  I used a soft lavender for the first layer (the straight sprinkles) and then a grape color for the stars and the hearts.  Then I cut a clear envelope apart and taped three of the sides to the back of my stenciled paper.  With the top left open, I sprinkled in some sequins and beads in various shades of purple.  Then I taped the top of the clear plastic to the back of the stenciled paper and glued this down onto a grape card base.  For the sentiment, I stamped it in a grape ink and cut it out with coordinating dies and then adhered it to the front of the shaker card.

Hugs Kisses and Birthday Wishes Shaker Card

Good morning! I'm sharing a fun birthday card that I made with new stamps from Technique Junkies.  I started by stamping the new Sparkling Celebration background with some blue ink onto some matching blue cardstock.  Then I stamped the new Kisses and Wishes with the same blue ink onto white cardstock and loosely cut it out with scissors.  The sentiment was glued to the blue background and then I placed this panel inside a clear envelope.  Before I sealed it up, I poured in some blue/green, gold, and clear sequins.  Then I glued this filled clear envelope to a white card base.  It's such a fun and easy way to make a shaker card!

Sparkly Confetti Birthday

Good morning!  Have you seen all the great new birthday stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs?  They are all so fun and different and they make creating your birthday cards so easy.

For today's card, I used the new Layered Party stencil set.  This is a set of three stencils and they all fit together to make a cohesive pattern.  The first stencil is the little confetti sticks or sprinkles, the second is the tiny stars, and the third is the tiny hearts.  I used some soft turquoise ink with the first two stencils (the sprinkles and the stars), and then I used some clear glitter glue on the hearts stencil.  I have a close-up picture of the glittery hearts below:

Birthday Shaker Card with Streamers

Good morning!  I'm sharing a fun confetti shaker card with you today.  I started by brushing some blue oxide ink over the Big Happy Birthday stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  Then I picked out a lime green oxide ink and brushed it over the Fab Streamers stencil right on top of the previously stenciled blue birthday sentiment.  It's so fun and festive!  

The next part was the shaker assembly.  I cut down my stenciled panel so it would fit into a clear envelope and then I added some sequins and some die cut streamer bits.  Then I sealed the envelope and adhered this shaker to a white card base.

Big 3 Birthday Candles Shaker Card

Happy Friday!  I made this fun shaker card for my little great-nephew who is turning 3 this month.  I used the Big Candles stencil and the Simple Happy Birthday stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  The Big Candles stencil actually has five candles on it, but I masked off two of them so I could have three candles for the birthday boy.  Then I made the shaker frame, filled it with yellow and gold sequins, and adhered it over the candles.  The sentiment is stenciled with the Simple Happy Birthday stencil and glued to the top of the shaker.

You Old Buzzard Birthday

Hee hee hee!  I love this sentiment on this fun birthday card.  I can think of several "old buzzards" who would get a kick out of this card.  Hahahaaa!

The candles in the background and the sentiment are new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  The candles are actually a two part stencil set called Layered Candles - the sticks and the flames are on separate stencils.  I started by placing the candle (the stick part) stencil over some white cardstock and I brushed some green and blue inks all over it.  Then I removed that stencil and layered the flame stencil so the flames would align just above the blue and green candles.  I brushed some yellow ink over the flame stencil and then adhered this background to a black card base.

The sentiment stencil, Old Buzzard, was placed over some white cardstock and stenciled with black ink.  Then I trimmed it down and adhered it to a black mat before affixing it to my card.

Colorful Papel Picado Birthday

Good morning, friends!  Today is a new release day over at A Colorful Life Designs, and this month is all about birthdays.  There are some awesome new birthday stencils perfect for all the people in your life.  One of the new stencils is this Papel Picado Happy Birthday stencil that I used on my card today.  I brushed over this stencil with some pink and blue inks, and where the two colors overlapped, this gorgeous shade of purple appeared.  I added some rhinestones to some of the dots on this card for that extra oomph.  

I love the intricacy of this gorgeous stencil.  It reminds me of the beautiful cut papers I would see all over San Antonio in all kinds of bright and bold colors.

On my first card today, I've used some sentiments from the new Inside Out: Young at Heart set.  I used an embossing folder with a bunch of numbers on it and lightly rubbed a white ink pad over the embossed areas.  Then I added the "Age is Just a Number" sentiment across the numbers.

On the inside, I stamped the rest of the sentiment.  LOL!

On the next card, I used the new Sparkling Celebration background and the Birthday Queen stamp.  I embossed both of these with gold embossing powder, and then I brushed some pink, aqua, and purple inks over the embossed background.

My last card today features two of the new slimline stamps, Slimline Band Border and Rock Star Birthday Sentiments.  These are fun to mix and match.  I stamped the Slimline Band Border with some black ink onto some red patterned paper from my stash.  The sentiment was stamped with black ink onto white cardstock and trimmed down to fit underneath the band border.

All of these stamps are great for building up my stash of birthday cards.  I've got a nice stack ready for some upcoming birthdays.
