Autumn Daisies

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing another memorydex card that I created with these gorgeous flowers from Polka Dot Orchard.  I printed out this trio of daisies from the Whoops A Daisy set (Polka Dot Orchard) and then colored these in some deep orange autumn hues with my Copic markers.  I also used a blending brush to add just a tiny hint of yellow to the background behind the flowers.  It adds a soft little glow to highlight the flowers.

I cut out the colored flower panel with a memorydex die and set it aside while I cut the sentiment.  This sentiment is also from the Whoops A Daisy set.  I cut the words apart and then added them to my flower panel with some foam tape.  I placed this card onto my memorydex "wheel" in front of the other ones I have created.  It's been fun making these cards and filling up this memorydex.

Glittery Autumn Season

Good morning, friends!  We are still seeing some 90 degree weather here, so it's not completely autumn yet.  We don't really have the brilliant yellows and oranges and reds here, so I thought I'd have a little fun with some brown shades and some glitter.

I started by placing the gorgeous new Oak Elements stencil from A Colorful Life Designs onto some tan cardstock.  I spread some glittery brown paste from Picket Fence Studios over the gorgeous leaves and acorns at the top of the card and let it dry.  Then I stamped the sentiment at the bottom (Honey Bee Stamps) with a dark brown ink.

I really love the sparkle and the different colors in the glitter paste.  This is how you can liven up a monochromatic brown card - add glitter!  LOL  This Oak Elements stencil has three different variations of leaves and acorns so it is a very versatile stencil.  This one is a Must Have in your crafty stash.

I loved this card so much that I did another one with the Leaves & Acorns stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I placed this stencil on the same tan cardstock and spread the same glittery paste over the stencil.  After this dried, I added the sentiment (Honey Bee Stamps) that I stamped on vanilla cardstock and cut out with a die.  Look at that glittery goodness!

Misty Trees Believe

Good morning!  Have you started on your Christmas cards?  I've got a pretty good start on mine, and one of them is today's card that I created with stamps from Technique Junkies.

I love the Misty Trees stamp, and when I saw the new Believe stamp, I just knew they would be perfect together.  I stamped the Misty Trees with a soft green ink onto white cardstock, and then I stamped the Believe with a dark evergreen ink.  It's hard to tell, but I added some iridescent gems to the stars in the sentiment.

Please feel free to use this code, TJ10Holly, to save when you shop at Technique Junkies.  You can grab these two stamps that I used today, Misty Trees and Believe, and you can stock up on some more Christmas stamps from this month's release HERE.  Have a wonderful day!

Mum-derful Birthday

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this card that I made with the new Football Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  There's a cute little story behind this name - Football Flowers.  Here in Texas, the high school students go crazy at Homecoming and they try to out-do each other by wearing huge mum arrangements.  I've seen some that are bigger than the actual humans that are wearing them.  LOL!  So when Mary Kay (the owner of A Colorful Life Designs) was looking for a name for this stencil, she had those outrageous homecoming mums in mind.  So since homecoming is a football night and the mums are big flower arrangements worn on said football night, she came up with Football Flowers.  How clever is that?

I decided to create a birthday card so I placed the Football Flowers stencil onto some deep yellow cardstock and brushed some dark yellow ink over it.  I added a strip of white cardstock to the bottom of the card with the stamped and die cut sentiment from Hero Arts, and then I tied some ribbon around the card.

You're On My Mind

Good morning!  I'm back today with a floral card featuring the gorgeous new Mega Flower stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I love the way this flower fills up most of the card.  All you really need is a sentiment to complete this quick and easy card.

I sprayed the back of the Mega Flower stencil with Pixie Spray because those tiny little lines between the flower petals have a tendency to move if you are heavy-handed with your ink application.  I started with a soft yellow color and then added in a warm honey color.  I used a brown ink for the center of the flower and after I took the stencil off, I brushed a very light layer of the brown ink over that area.  The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment.

This Mega Flower stencil is going to see a lot of use in the future.  I can use this for birthday cards, sympathy cards, and encouragement cards.  Just thinking about all the different color combinations is making me giddy!  LOL

I love making Christmas cards, and I love all of the stamps in this release!  I have so many cards to share with you this month that I decided to show you six of my cards today instead of my usual three for the new release.

For my first card, I used the Embellished Merry Christmas stamp.  I inked it up with Versamark, stamped it on white cardstock, and then embossed with gold embossing powder.  Using one of the Colorful Blending Brushes, I brushed on some dark green ink and gradually faded it out around the sentiment.

For my second card, I stamped the Let Us Adore Him with a rich blue ink.  The background was created by placing the Shining Star stencil onto some rich blue cardstock and spreading the Pearly Diamond Glitter Paint from Technique Junkies over the stencil.

My next card is a fun departure from my normal Christmas cards.  Usually I'm all about the white Christmas, but I know some people would love to have a "beachy" Christmas.  Some of my friends live on the other side of the globe (Australia) where it's actually summer time on December 25, so this card would be perfect for them.  I used the new Seashell Christmas and the Beachy Christmas sentiment.  The background is the previously released Distressed Paint stamp.

Some of my friends celebrate Hanukkah so this new Menorahs background stamp will come in handy.  I used a sentiment from the previously released Happy Hanukkah set.  Both stamps were inked with Versamark, stamped onto gold cardstock, and embossed with gold embossing powder.  It's nice to do something other than the traditional blue and white cards.

The new Christmas Bells and Bells Chime (sentiment) go perfectly with each other.  I stamped the Christmas Bells and colored the image with Copic markers.  The Bells Chime was stamped and embossed on vellum and then I adhered the vellum over the colored bells.

My last card today is a traditional Christmas scene.  This beautiful Christmas Tree with Gifts was stamped with a hybrid black ink and then colored with Copic markers.  I also used one of the Colorful Blending Brushes to brush a soft yellow ink over the tree and I let it fade out as I brushed.  I love that soft golden glow.  Then I added some Diamond Stickles to the star and the lights for that sparkly glow.  The sentiment is from the beautiful new Scripted Holidays set.

I'll be sharing more of my cards with these new Technique Junkies stamps throughout the month.  Come on back next week to see what I've created with the two Santa stamps!

Crisp Chill of Fall - October 2022 stencil release

Good morning!! A Colorful Life Designs has a new stencil release today, and I am in love with these gorgeous fall-themed stencils.  If you are into Halloween, there's some great spooky stencils for you to use on your creepy cards and projects.  You can see all of the October stencils HERE.  If you gotta have em all, the October 2022 Master Creator Bundle is a great deal for you.  You can get all these stencils seen below with just one click AND at 20% off!

For my card today, I used the gorgeous new Big Oak stencil.  This is a 6x9 stencil so you can make just about any size of card with this one.  My card is a 5.5" square, and as you can see, the stencil fills up the entire card.

I started by spraying some Pixie spray on the back of the Big Oak stencil and then I placed it onto some kraft cardstock.  Then I spread five different colors of Paper Glaze and Paper Glaze Luxe (from Picket Fence Studios) over the entire stencil and carefully lifted it off.  The glitter on this card is just gorgeous!  After the paste dried, I added the sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps and adhered the panel to a darker brown card base.

The veins of the leaves and the caps of the acorns are so crisp and well-defined.  The Pixie spray is a big help when it comes to intricate detailed stencils as well as tiny pieces like the veins on this stencil.

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You will save 10% off your order, so grab these gorgeous new fall stencils and have fun creating!  Have a wonderful day!
