Puppy Week - Pan Pastel Fur Baby

Hi friends!  I'm back with card #2 for Puppy Week here on my blog.  I've been playing with some new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, and this month's release is all about pets.

Today, I've used the beautiful new Puppy Pals stencil.  You will see that there are two silhouettes on this stencil.  I masked the smaller one on the right side off with some sticky notes so I could just use the larger silhouette on the left.  I sponged several different colors of Pan Pastels all over the puppy silhouette stencil and then I sprayed the piece with some workable fixatif.  This helps to set the pastels so they don't rub off.  The sentiment, Fur Baby from Technique Junkies, is stamped with a dark brown ink, and I added some punched brown hearts to the card.

Please feel free to use my code, HollyFan10, when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  You'll save 10% off your entire order.  There are so many gorgeous stencils in the store, and you'll fill up your cart in no time.  Come on back tomorrow to see what I've made for card #3 for Puppy Week!

Puppy Week - Sapphire Fur Baby

Howdy, folks.  I've been playing with some new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, and I've got three puppy-themed cards to share with y'all this week.  This month's stencil release is all about pets, and I love puppies, so these were a lot of fun to play with.

For today's card, I used the new Paws 6x6 stencil.  I brushed some Chipped Sapphire and Stormy Sky distress inks over the stencil onto white cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment and the puppy with the Chipped Sapphire ink and cut them out.  The sentiment, Fur Baby, and the puppy, Perfect Companions, are both from Technique Junkies.  You can use my code, TJ10Holly, to save when you shop there.

You can pick up this adorable Paws background stencil in the A Colorful Life Designs store along with tons of other stencils.  Use code HollyFan10 to save 10% off your entire order.  Come on back tomorrow to see card #2 for Puppy Week!

For my first card today, I stamped the gorgeous new Old Fashioned Roses with Versamark onto some blackberry cardstock, covered it with clear embossing powder, and melted it with a heat tool.  Then I covered the whole piece with some Rose Gold foil and ran it through a laminating machine.  The new sentiment, You Add Magic, was stamped with a blackberry ink and placed over the foiled roses.

This second card was so much fun for me!  I was just having a blast playing around with this new Fairy Garden set.  I stamped the little fairy mound and the stars with black ink and then employed the Silhouette Technique by filling in all the stamped areas with a black marker.  I stamped the sentiment and let the whole piece dry completely.  With the ink blending brushes from Technique Junkies, I brushed on several different colors of green ink with the darkest color on the outer edges.  Then I used a gold gel pen to outline the fairy mound and fill in the stars for a shimmery effect.

While I still had the Fairy Garden set out, I thought it would be fun to use the tiny little fairies and show them flitting around the new Floral Silhouette.  I stamped the flowers in the lower left corner with a permanent black ink, and then I stamped the sentiment from the Fairy Garden set.  I stamped three of the tiny fairies flitting around the flowers, and then I used the ink blending brushes to apply some yellow, pink, and purple inks.  After the inks dried completely, I covered the fairies with a clear glitter pen to give them that luminescent quality.

Older and Fabulous in Magenta

I've got a bright magenta card to share with y'all today.  Did you see this More Fabulous stamp from this month's Technique Junkies release?  I stamped this with permanent black ink and let it dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped it again onto a sticky note and cut out the lady to make a mask.  I placed the mask over the stamped lady and then the Messy Diamond Grid stencil over the whole piece.  The ink blending brushes which I used are perfect for brushing magenta ink over the stencil.  I also inked up a small strip with the same magenta ink and adhered it under the lady's feet.  This lady is bold and bright and fabulous!

Please feel free to use my code, TJ10Holly, to save some money when you shop at Technique Junkies.  There are so many fabulous stamps in the store.  Enjoy!

Crackle Hugs

Are you enjoying your weekend?  I'm sharing this fun experiment I've been working on all week.  I pulled out my new Pinwheels stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and taped it down over some watercolor paper.  I then applied some crackle paste over the stencil and let it dry overnight.  The next day, I sprayed some colors that my mom gave me for Christmas (Wplus9 Pure Color sprays) and set it aside to dry.  The colors I used are Sweet Gelato, Lake House, and Bloomsberry.

After the piece was dry, I wanted to emphasize the lines between the crackled areas.  I poured some of the blue Lake House spray out onto a palette and used a paintbrush to apply this blue color to the "grout lines."  This really helped to set off the crackled areas.  Those crackles are just so fun!  Here is a close up look at those crackles:

I had no idea how this project was going to turn out.  It's all part of the fun of experimentation.  I love how this looks and I can't wait to try it again with another Colorful Life Designs stencil.  Hmmmm which one should I use??

Fabulous Peony

Hi Junkies!  It's Holly posting today.  Did you go through the team blog hop on Saturday?  All the artwork with the new February 2020 stamps are awesome!  I used the new Day Over Fabulous sentiment on this card today.  The Peony Collage background was inked up with Distress Oxide inks (Raspberry, Coral, and Persimmon) and stamped onto white cardstock.  Then I used the Raspberry Distress Oxide ink to stamp the Day Over Fabulous sentiment.  Some rhinestones were added to the center of the flower and the whole thing was adhered to a white card base.

All of the February 2020 New Release stamps are 15% off through February 8th.  No codes needed, just put them in your shopping cart and the discount will be applied at checkout.  You can save an extra 10% (for a total of 25% off) all of the new February 2020 stamps by using my code, TJ10Holly, when you check out.  Have fun shopping!

For my first card today, I've used the new Best Things in Life stamp.  I stamped this with black ink and made sure it was completely dry before moving on.  Then I used the ink blending brushes and applied several colors of distress ink all over - Bundled Sage, Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, and Weathered Wood.  After I achieved the ink coverage I wanted, I flicked water all over the piece and let it dry.  Finally, I stamped the words with with the Evergreen Bough distress ink, cut them out, and adhered them over the words from the initial stamping.

For my second card, I stamped the gorgeous new More Fabulous stamp with black ink and adhered it to a scarlet red card base.  I then pulled out my stash of buttons and had a great time adhering buttons all around the stamped image for a fun border.

For my last card today, I pulled out my well-loved Vintage Daisy Collage background and stamped it with black ink.  Then I pulled out my Distress Stain sprays and played with a combination of purple, blue, and green sprays.  While this background was drying, I stamped the new A Sister Just Gets It with black ink and cut it out with a circle die.  After the background was tied with purple ribbon, I adhered the Sister Gets It circle so that it was offset on the left side.  I cut off the excess and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.
