On this card above, I watercolored the gorgeous new Summer Bouquet with some Daniel Smith watercolor paints.  I added a light yellow wash around the edges and let it fade out.  The sentiment is from an older set called In Full Bloom Sentiments.

This seashell card was a joy to color.  I stamped this Zen Shells background with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from the By the Sea set, and I added some colored pearls all around the card.

Have fun checking out what the rest of the team has created with the new July release.

Glittery Gold Sunny Hi

It's Friday and I'm back to share this glittery gold sunny hi card with y'all today.  I love glitter and I had so much fun playing with this piece.  You can see I could not bear to cover up all that gorgeous glitter, so I kept it simple with a little die cut sentiment covered with the same glitter as the background.

I started with the new Rays stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and taped it down over some dark blue navy cardstock.  I spread some Golden Crystal Nuvo Glitter Paste over the stencil, took the stencil off, and let the paper and paste dry over night.  I spread a little scrap piece of navy paper with the same Golden Crystal glitter paste and let that dry before using the "hi" die to cut it out.   I glued the glittery die cut sentiment to a small navy circle and then placed that in the center of my glittery rays background.

I can't wait to get this in the mail to a friend who needs a little ray of glittery sunshine.   Go check out the awesome stencils from A Colorful Life Designs - you need this Rays stencil.  Yes, you do!  To save 10% on your order, enter in this code, HollyFan10, when you check out.  Happy shopping!

Thank you for being a Friend

Happy Friday, everyone.  I'm back with a colorful card to share with y'all today.  I started by sponging some inks over the Simple Grid stencil from A Colorful Life Designs on the left side and I gradually let the colors fade out to the right.  I used mango, melon, and grape colors for my background.

Next, I stamped the Nature's Paintbrushes silhouette (Penny Black) with black ink onto my stenciled background.  The sentiment is from The Ton, and I can't help singing the theme song from The Golden Girls every time I look at it.  LOL

Go check out the stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  There are so many different styles and patterns, and you're going to want them all.  Be sure to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% when you order from A Colorful Life Designs.  Enjoy your weekend!

Fluffy Yellow Flowers

Did you see the June 2019 stencil release from A Colorful Life Designs?  These Layered Fluffy Flowers are just one of the fabulous new stencils available.  I wanted to see how these looked in yellow, so I used Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink for the bottom layer, Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink for the middle layer, and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink for the centers (top layer).  I love this color combo!  I've tried this with pink (see this post) and now yellow.  I need to play with purples and blues and oranges - wouldn't those be awesome?

I kept this card clean and simple with the addition of a small sentiment from The Greetery.  I stamped it with Versamark and covered it with Princess Gold embossing powder from Ranger.

Go check out the stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs.  Be sure to use this code, HollyFan10, when you check out to get 10% off your order.  Happy Crafting!!

Elegant Floral Birthday card

I'm back with another card using a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  This time I am going dramatic and elegant and sparkly with this Lace Doily.  I placed this Lace Doily stencil on black cardstock and spread some Black Diamond Nuvo Glimmer Paste all over the stencil.  It's a very subtle effect, and when you move it around in the light, you can see the glitter (see picture below).

Isn't that cool??  If you know me, you know I love my glitter.  :-)  After the paste dried, I added the flower, leaves and sentiment (all from Altenew).

Exciting news!!!

Hi again!  I'm so happy you came back to visit with me this weekend.  It is so nice to share my creations with you on this blog again.  It's been a while since I did that, eh?  I missed the excitement and camaraderie of being part of a design team, so I'm here to share some exciting news with y'all.  I have joined the design team for A Colorful Life Designs!!!

A Colorful Life Designs has a wonderful variety of stencils, from sweet romantic doilies to funky psychedelic designs.  You can use so many different mediums with stencils - inks, paints, glitter pastes, texture pastes, sprays, chalks, and so much more.  I'm sharing my first Colorful Life card with you today, and I'll walk you through how I created it.

See those sweet frilly flowers in the background?  Those are created with a new set of stencils, Layered Fluffy Flowers, from the June 2019 release which is available now.  This is a set of three stencils, and they are labeled at the bottom of each stencil.  I started with the Fluffy Flower Base and I sponged some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink onto some white cardstock.  Next, I removed the Base and replaced it with the Fluffy Flower Middle over my inked cardstock.  I sponged some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink into the centers of the pale pink flowers.  After I removed the Middle stencil, I placed the Fluffy Flower Top stencil over the cardstock and sponged some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink onto the centers of the darker pink flowers.

These stencils make it so easy to create quick floral backgrounds!  I decided to cut mine apart and sponged all the edges with the Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink for an Aged Tiles technique background.  Some ribbon, a big butterfly, and a die cut sentiment complete this card.

Go check out all the fabulous stencils at A Colorful Life Designs!  I know you're gonna want them all! If you use this code, HollyFan10, you will save 10% off your entire order.  Have fun shopping!

Howdy y'all!!!!

Hi everyone!!!!  I'm back!!!!!  I took a little break from design teams but I did not stop creating.  I have spent a lot of time coloring with different mediums, such as colored pencils, Copic markers, and watercolors.  If you follow me on Facebook, you've probably seen all the different images I've colored over the past two years.  Here's a little sampling of the things I've done over the past two years:

I have some exciting news to share with you, so please check back with me this weekend.  Yes, you'll be seeing more postings on this blog in the very near future!  :-)
