Tis The Season Fig Wreath

Good morning!  I was in the mood for a non-traditional Christmas card, so I pulled out this gorgeous new Layered Holly Berry Wreath stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and placed it on some Pebble cardstock (a sort of pale gray/kraft color).  I stenciled the leaves with Tidepool and Juniper inks and the berries with Fig ink.  It's a fun new color combo and I love it!

After I stamped the sentiment in the center with Fig ink, I added some Crystal Metallic Chameleon Card Bling (A Colorful Life Designs) all around the wreath.  I love that bright sparkle on this wreath!  This stenciled panel was then glued to a Fig card base.  The sentiment stamp, the inks, and the cardstock are all from Concord & 9th.

Holly Jolly Leaves

Good morning!  I love making Christmas cards and I have a pretty good stash of them by now, so I should be good to go in December.  This is one of the cards I made with the new Holly Berry Set stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

I placed the stencil onto a white card and randomly moved it around to fill up the background of the card.  The leaves were colored with Avocado ink and the berries were colored with Honeysuckle ink (Concord & 9th).  For a bit of interest, I splattered some glossy black spray (Dina Wakley) over the card.  While that was drying, I die cut the sentiment and the shadow from Avocado, Honeysuckle, and Black cardstocks and glued them together.  Once I was sure the black splatter was dry, I affixed the sentiment with some foam tape.

Feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) at A Colorful Life Designs.  You can use this code on stencils, stamps, and Card Bling, so have fun shopping!  Have a great weekend!

Holly Jolly on Kraft

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

Today's card is probably my favorite - it even has my name on it!!  LOL  I used the Layered Holly stencils from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) on a kraft card, with green ink brushed over the leaf stencil and glittery red paste spread over the berry stencil.  After the paste dried, I added a small white die cut circle to the center with a kraft die cut sentiment (scrapbook.com) and some punched leaves and berries.

I hope you had a chance to play along in the linky party this week.  I have lots of fun new cards for my Christmas card stash and now it's time to start addressing envelopes.  Happy Holidays!!

Simple Ombre Tree

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I placed the Line Tree stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a white card and used a small brush to ink up the star at the top with yellow ink.  Then I inked up the tree with three green inks for an ombre going from light to dark.  The four small lines at the bottom were inked up with some brown ink.  I pulled out some red rhinestones and placed them all over the tree for the sparkly ornaments.  I thought about a sentiment but I really didn't want to cover up the tree or the red rhinestones, so the sentiment is inside the card.  This is a quick and easy card to mass produce - it took me longer to add all the red rhinestones than it did to stencil the card.

Purple Holidays

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

For today's card, I pulled out the gorgeous Dotted Poinsettia stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save).  I wanted a different holiday color for this card, so I went with a pale purple cardstock and I brushed a darker grape purple ink over the stencil.  The Crystal Metallic Quicksilver Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs has a slight purple undertone, so it is perfect with this purple card.  I die cut the sentiment (Concord & 9th) from grape cardstock and the shadow from metallic silver cardstock.  Now's the time to use those special papers and embellishments, right??

Happy Holidays Pile of Gifts

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I placed the Pile of Presents stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a white card and sponged some green and teal inks all over that.  I left the stencil in place until the inks dried, and then I lightly sponged a little bit more ink here and there to vary the intensity of the green color.  After I removed the stencil, I added a red glitter die cut sentiment (scrapbook.com) for a little bit of sparkle.

Fa La La Lights

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I pulled out the Layered String Lights stencils from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) and brushed green and red inks over these onto some white cardstock.  There is some space between the lights and it's perfect for a small sentiment, so I stamped the large "fa la la" (Concord & 9th) with black ink onto some white cardstock, trimmed it, and layered it with some black cardstock.  Then I used that as a guide for the sub-sentiment so I could center it and stamped it between the two lower strands of lights.  I'm so happy that it worked out!

I placed the Beautiful Poinsettia stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a pink card base and brushed some pale pink ink over the entire card.  After I removed the stencil, I placed this card in my MISTI tool and stamped the sentiment (Pinkfresh) with black ink.  For my finishing touch, I added some gorgeous Opaque Iridescent Vanilla Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs (you can use code HollyFan10 to save 10%)  in the center of the poinsettia and all over the card.  I love the subtle impact of that soft stenciling in the background.

I spread some glittery white paste over the Snow Doily stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) and let it dry.  Meanwhile, I stamped the sentiment from Pinkfresh, die cut it, and adhered it with foam tape after the stenciled background was dry.  I love this clean and simple look.

Woodsy Pine Christmas

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a fun way to use the new Layered Mixed Wreath stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I "deconstructed" this stencil and used all the elements separately instead of creating the intended wreath.  I started by masking off one of the pinecones and I stenciled that with brown ink randomly all over a kraft card base.  Then I masked off one of the leaf sprigs and stenciled that with a light green ink all over the card.  The holly leaf was masked off and stenciled with a dark pine green ink and then I masked off some of the little stars and dots.  Those were randomly stenciled with kraft ink.  It's a fun woodsy-themed background.  When I was happy with all the stenciling, I splattered the whole card with some white acrylic ink.

While that was drying, I masked off the sentiment and stenciled that with brown ink onto some white cardstock.  After I trimmed that down, I added a dark brown layer behind the sentiment and glued it to my stenciled kraft card base.  Lastly, I added some Opalescent Sprout Card Bling for a fun shimmery accent.

This Layered Mixed Wreath stencil is on sale for only $4 until October 22, so hurry up and grab this at this great price.  You can also use this code, HollyFan10, to save an extra 10% of everything in your cart (excluding Master Creator Bundles).  You will love this fabulous stencil!  Have a wonderful day!

Christmas Pine Wreath

Good morning!  A Colorful Life Designs just released their new Mid Month Motivation stencil, and it's gorgeous!  This new Layered Mixed Wreath stencil helps you create a beautiful holiday card and it's on sale for only $4 until October 22.  The sentiment is separate from the wreath elements so you can use it by itself or you can mix and match all the different pieces.  I used a classic red and green color combo for this wreath along with a little touch of brown for the pinecones.  I also added some Opalescent Sprout Card Bling on the wreath for that touch of shimmer.

You can use this code, HollyFan10, to save an extra 10% off everything in your cart (excluding Master Creator Bundles), so grab this Layered Mixed Wreath for only $4 and use the code for the additional discount.  Don't forget to check out all the October release stencils and the gorgeous Card Bling!  Come on back tomorrow and I'll share a "deconstructed" way to use this stencil.  Happy Shopping!

Merry Grinchmas

Good morning!  Have you watched the original cartoon with the Grinch?  That's such a classic Christmas movie, and A Colorful Life Designs has some awesome stencils based on classic moments from that movie.  One of them is this new Stink Stank Stunk stencil with the Grinch holding one of the ornaments from the Whoville village.

I placed this Stink Stank Stunk stencil over some white cardstock and masked off the ornament.  The Grinch hand was inked up with Lemongrass ink (Concord &9th).  I removed the mask from the ornament and carefully masked the green fingers before I inked up the ornament with Lumberjack Plaid distress ink.  I went over the top of the ornament with a gold pen and then added a gold twine bow.

For the card, I placed the same stencil so that the sentiment was at the bottom of a Lemongrass card.  I brushed some black ink over the sentiment, removed the stencil, and let it dry.  The first stenciled panel with the Grinch hand was glued to a black mat, and then I glued this panel to the green card.

Please use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) at A Colorful Life Designs.  Be sure to check out all the fabulous new holiday stencils and all the gorgeous Card Bling.  Have a wonderful day!

Purple Ombre Christmas

Good morning!  I have a sweet Christmas card to share with y'all today.  This one is quick and easy, which is perfect as we are fast approaching the holidays.  I placed the new Fancy Merry Christmas stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a white card and brushed a pale lilac ink across the top and a darker purple ink across the bottom.  Where the two colors met in the middle, I lightly blended the two colors together.  After I removed the stencil, I pulled out some Crystal Metallic Quicksilver Card Bling (it has a fabulous pale purple hue!) and glued them down all over the card.  How's that for clean and simple and quick?

Hologram Red Berry Wreath

Good morning!  Have you started on your holiday cards yet?  I have quite a stash going, and I'm still making more.  I love it!  One card that is super quick and easy is this one that I created with the Layered Holly Berry Wreath stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

I placed the stencil over some white cardstock and brushed some green ink over the leaves first.  Then I moved the stencil so that the berries were nestled into their spaces between the leaves, and then I brushed some red ink over those.  I stamped the sentiment (Concord & 9th) with black ink and then adhered this panel to a black card base.  Then I pulled out some Hologram Red Card Bling (GORGEOUS!!!!) and randomly glued some all around the wreath.  For a finishing touch, I added a little bow cut from gold glitter paper.  This card would be really fun to mass produce if you need to make a lot of cards quickly.

You still have a few days to take advantage of the Full Set Syndrome Special where you can get all 12 of the October Card Bling colors at 20% off.  If you use my code, HollyFan10, you can get an additional 10% off that price, and this code will also discount everything else in your cart (stencils, stamps, other Card Bling).   This special price on the Card Bling is only good until October 7, so go shopping right now!  Have fun!

Deck the Halls Shaker Card

Good morning!  The October release at A Colorful Life Designs has some awesome stencils and gorgeous Christmas Card Bling, and I've paired them together for this fun shaker card.

I started by brushing some green ink over the Festoons stencil onto some pale green cardstock.  Then I taped some plastic packaging around the front of the card, leaving one end open so I could pour some Card Bling into the front "pocket."  I used the following colors of Card Bling:

Crystal Iris Cranberry
Hologram Gold
Crystal Metallic Chameleon
Crystal Metallic Dragon
Hologram Green

After I sealed the opening of my shaker card, I adhered this to a dark green card base.  Lastly, I die cut and added the sentiment (Concord & 9th) to the front of the shaker card.  It's such a fun card and perfectly festive with those red and gold and green colors!

Please feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  This code can be used on everything except the Master Creator Bundles.  If you are anything like me, you need allllll the Card Bling, and there is a special bundle available at a special price until October 7.  You can also use the code, HollyFan10, to save an extra 10% off that Full Set Syndrome Special, but don't wait too long.  You only have until October 7 to grab these at that fantastic savings.  Have a fabulous day!
