Amazing Ginger Flowers

Good morning!  Today I have a card to share with you which features the gorgeous Double Ginger Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save).  This flower is just stunning and I couldn't bear to cover up any of that floral detail, so I went with a clean and simple approach.

I created a card base by cutting some white cardstock to 4.25"x11" and folded it in half at 5.5" to create an A2 card.  Next, I placed the Double Ginger Flowers stencil over the front of the white card and taped it down with some low tack tape.  Then I used a blending brush to add some pale orange/tan ink over the stencil, just to lay down some soft color over the whole thing.  I used a darker orange/brown ink at the base of the flowers, blending it up towards the paler color for a smooth gradient.  After I removed the stencil, I stamped the sentiment with a dark brown ink and added some Card Bling (some fun freebie sequins that come with every order from A Colorful Life Designs).

Butterfly Script Canvas

I decided to try my hand at creating a mixed media canvas, so first I placed the Script stencil onto a small 4" square canvas and spread some white paste over the stencil.  After that dried, I glued some clay pieces to the top of the canvas and let that dry before I brushed black gesso over the whole thing.  Then I pulled out some purple and blue sprays and just randomly sprayed the colors over the canvas, letting the ink pool here and there.  After all the ink was completely dry, I rubbed some silver wax just across the tops of all the different surfaces to highlight those areas.  I also spread some glittery Stickles with my finger in random areas.  It's so hard to capture the sparkle, but there is a closeup picture below.  You can really see the features of that stenciled Script where the blue and purple inks pool around it.  I love this stencil and it's so perfect for mixed media pieces like this!

Mid-month Inspiration with Vintage Script Card

Good morning!  Today a brand new stencil is being released over at A Colorful Life Designs for a fun mid-month inspiration!  I love this new Script stencil!  It is perfect for all those vintage-y style projects but still bold enough to use on masculine cards or any kind of art journaling.  This special Mid Month Motivation stencil is on sale for only $4 until June 22, and you can use my code HollyFan10 as well!

I brushed some kraft ink over the Script stencil onto some white cardstock (yes, it's white!), and then I brushed a brown ink and a deep walnut ink over the cardstock.  I concentrated the deep walnut ink around the edges and then I distressed all the edges with a distress tool.  I added some ephemera over the top of the stenciling along with some glitter dots and glued this down to a dark green card base.  Finally, I stamped this sentiment from Ink Blot Shop with brown ink and adhered it with foam tape.

Pink Party Lei Friend

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a pink flowery card that is perfect for sending a quick note to a dear friend.  I started by placing the pretty Party Lei stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (code HollyFan10 to save) over some white cardstock and then I brushed a pink ink all over the stencil.  I went heavy with the ink in some areas and lighter in other spots just to add some interest to the background.  After I removed the stencil, I added the die cut notecard with the sentiment and a cute little pink heart.  Some fun iridescent Card Bling (a fun freebie with every order from A Colorful Life Designs) was added to the flower centers and to the little notecard for a bling-y touch.

Bright Pineapple Birthday

Good morning!  Do you know someone who has a birthday in the summer?  This card would be perfect for them.  I created a fun shaker card full of pineapples and sequins and tropical vibes.

I used the brand new Layered Pineapples stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save 10%) and brushed some yellow and green inks thru the stencils onto some white cardstock.  Then I die cut the sentiment and adhered it to the stenciled pineapple panel.  After I taped down some plastic acetate to the back on three sides, I poured in some sequins through the opening on the fourth side and taped down that side.  I glued this shaker panel to a green card layer and then adhered that to a white card base.

Greatest Monstera Leaves

I placed the Monstera Leaves stencil over some white cardstock, and then I brushed some light and medium green inks over the stencil.  I glued this panel to a green card base, and added a small strip of kraft cardstock stamped with the sentiment.  I stamped the flower and then die cut that as well as a monstera leaf and adhered them to the kraft strip next to the sentiment.

Tropical Birthday Flowers

Good morning!  There are some new stencils and stamps from A Colorful Life Designs today (use code HollyFan10 to save), and I've used one of them on this bright, summery card.  This Tropical Flowers stencil is perfect with bright colors, and I've brushed some vibrant yellow ink in the centers of the flowers and some hot pink ink on the flower petals.  I used a die to cut my stenciled panel in half with that curvy line.  After I glued the two panels down to a white paper, I stamped the sentiment with black ink.  This panel was then adhered to a hot pink layer and then to a white card base.  Finally, I added some bright yellow Card Bling (a fun freebie with every order from A Colorful Life Designs) all around the stenciled flowers.
