Sepia Lavender Frame

Good morning!  Today, I'm sharing this sepia-toned lavender frame card with stamps from Technique Junkies.  I stamped the gorgeous new Lavender Frame with a dark brown ink (Pinecone Versafine Clair) onto some white cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Lavender Friendship Sentiments set with the same brown ink inside the frame.

To get that sepia-toned shading around the frame, I masked off the center of the frame first.  Then I used a blending brush and some brown dye ink and very lightly brushed the ink around the outside of the frame.  I carefully peeled off the mask to reveal the bright white sentiment area and then adhered this stamped panel to a dark brown mat and a white card base.

Shimmery Embossed Hello

Good morning, folks!  I tried something new with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and I thought I'd share it with you.  I started by placing the new Stylized Four Petal stencil on some pale pinky/yellow cardstock and I ran these through my machine with an embossing pad.  This imprints the pattern from the stencil into the paper.  While the stencil was still embedded in the paper, I lightly sprayed over the exposed areas with some shimmery spray and then I peeled the stencil off.  You can see the subtle shimmer on the raised areas of the paper in the picture below.  It's such a cool effect!

Dotty Swirls Thank You card

Good morning, friends!  I'm popping in with this easy thank you card that I created with a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I placed the new Delicate Scrolls stencil at an angle on some soft butter cardstock and brushed some soft yellow ink over the stencil.  I stamped the thank you at the bottom, glued this to a maroon card base, and then added the ribbon at the top.  It's a simple card but those dotty swirls give this a subtle elegance.

Double Glittered Happy Flowers Birthday

 

Good morning!  I'm sharing this super glittery birthday card with y'all today.  We all know someone who is "so extra," right?  This card would be perfect for that person!  LOL

I used the cute new Happy Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create this glittery background.  I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock to 5" x 3.75" and then I placed it onto a sheet of double-sided adhesive.  After I cut the panel from the adhesive sheet, I set it aside to prepare my stencil.  

I placed the Happy Flowers stencil onto my work table and rubbed a bar of coconut soap all over the back of the stencil.  After the entire stencil was covered with the soap, I removed the liner from the adhesive on my white cardstock and placed the stencil soap-side-down onto the adhesive.  I used my fingers to press the stencil down onto the adhesive to ensure good contact around the openings.

Now the fun part began!  I picked out a cute pink glitter and sprinkled it over the stencil.  Then I used my fingers to rub the pink glitter into the openings of the stencil where the adhesive was exposed.  After all the stencil openings were filled with the pink glitter, I brushed off all the excess glitter and then used my fingers to burnish the glitter into the adhesive.

Now to the nerve-wracking part - removing the stencil!  This is why you rub soap all over the back - to make sure you can peel the stencil off the adhesive.  So I grabbed one end of the stencil and slowly and carefully peeled the stencil off of the adhesive.  Now the rest of the adhesive was exposed, so I covered the entire thing with a white glitter, pressing all the glitter down with my fingers.  After I burnished the glitter into the adhesive, I brushed off all the excess glitter.  I did not want to cover up all that gorgeous glitter, so I added a stamped sentiment from Ink Blot Shop to the card.

This soaping and glittering technique is one that I used waaaaaay back when metal stencils were all the rage.  I wanted to see if I could apply it to these plastic stencils, and I'm happy to say it worked beautifully.  Think about all the great stencils from A Colorful Life Designs and how you can use this soaping and glittering technique with those.  Wouldn't that be fun??

Confetti Shaker Galentine's Day

Galentine's Day is February 13, the day before Valentine's Day, and it's a fun excuse to send happy mail to your friends.  I made this fun shaker card with a couple of new stamps from Technique Junkies.  

I started by embossing the Falling Confetti Hearts with white powder onto some red cardstock.  Then I took some plastic packaging and cut it larger than the red panel.  I taped three sides of the plastic to the back of the red panel, leaving one end open.  I added some clear sequins to the "pocket" and then taped the shaker completely all around the back of the red panel.  I stamped the Happy Galentine's Day onto some white cardstock, die cut it with an oval die, glued it to a black scalloped oval die cut and adhered it to the front of the shaker.  Then I used double-sided tape to adhere the shaker to a black card base.

Delicate Scrolls Friend

Good morning, friends!  I'm starting off this day with this pretty stenciled card that would be great to send to all of my friends.  I placed the new Delicate Scrolls stencil from A Colorful Life Designs onto some cherry red cardstock and then spread some mother-of-pearl paste through the stencil.  After the paste dried, I added the sentiment and glued the panel onto a card.

Happy Flowers Shaker Card

Good morning, friends!  I'm popping in today to share this fun birthday shaker card with y'all.  I used the fabulous new Happy Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create the colorful background on this card.  

I placed the Happy Flowers stencil on to some white cardstock, and then blended some yellow, orange, and pink inks for a fun ombre effect.  Then I cut some plastic packaging larger than the stenciled panel, taped it on the back on three sides, and added some shaker bits and sequins in the open end before taping that end shut.  The birthday sentiment (Elizabeth Craft Designs) is die cut and glued to the top of the shaker card.

Glittered Hearts Valentine's Day

Good morning!  I have Valentine's Day on the brain, and I'm sharing this glittery creation with you today.  I used the new Happy Love stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create the background.  I started by placing the Happy Love stencil onto some red cardstock, and then I spread some white stencil paste over the whole panel.  I carefully lifted the stencil up and then immediately covered the wet hearts with some white glitter.  I tapped the glitter into the paste very very lightly with my fingers and then set it aside to dry.  Once it was completely dry, I brushed off the excess glitter and added the die cut sentiment (Elizabeth Craft Designs).

Good morning and Happy New Year!  I'm excited to see what 2022 brings!

I have a fun shaker card to share with you today.  I started by brushing some pink ink over the brand new Happy Love stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I started with a light hand at the top and added more color and more pressure as I went down so I would get this pink ombre coloring on these stenciled hearts.

I found some smaller love sentiments and stamped them with black ink inside some of the hearts.  Once this panel was completely dry, I wrapped some clear plastic packaging around the card, taping it on the back on three sides.  With one side still open, I poured in some clear sequins and then I taped off that end.  These full card front shakers are so much fun to make!

For my first card today, I used the sweet new Dog is a Small Word sentiment.  I started by stenciling the puppy silhouette from the Puppy Pals stencil (A Colorful Life Designs) onto my white card base with some brown ink.  Then I stamped the Dog is a Small Word right inside the puppy silhouette.

For my second card, I stamped the gorgeous new Lavender Frame with black ink.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Lavender Friendship Sentiments set inside the Lavender Frame.  I used Copic markers in gray, pale green, and lavender hues to color in the images around the frame.

My last card today shows off the fun new Kitty Love background stamp.  I stamped this cute Kitty Love with black ink, let it dry, and colored in all the hearts with a red Copic marker.  I added some die cut X and O letters for a cute "hugs and kisses" sentiment.
