Flower Bud Note

Good morning!  Today's card is full of bright summer-time colors, and we are going to have some HOT weather this week here in Texas.  It's been such a mild summer so far, and I have loved it!  But now we are going to see our "normal" summer temperatures in the high 90's so I'm definitely staying inside with my air conditioning.

For my card today, I pulled out the sweet Mid Century Buds stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and I taped it down over some white cardstock.  Then I brushed on some yellow, orange, and hot pink inks in an ombre from top to bottom.  I love this graphic look, so I didn't want to cover it up.  I kept it simple with a die cut sentiment in black and white, and then I adhered this panel to a black card base.

Very Merry Trees - Christmas in July Linky Party

Good morning!  Today is the last day of the Christmas in July Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog, and this is my last Christmas card for this week.  I had SO much fun creating all these cards for the Linky Party, and they are a great addition to my holiday card stash.

For this card, I placed the Dotty Trees stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over a white card and brushed some light and medium green inks over the whole thing.  I splattered some white paint over the entire card for that snowy effect, and then I affixed the die cut sentiment (Concord and 9th) with some foam tape.  Lastly, I added some Metallic Red Card Bling for some fun pops of red here and there.

Holly Jolly Gingerbreadmen - Christmas in July Linky Party

Good morning!  I'm sharing another fun Christmas card with y'all today so I can enter this into the Christmas in July Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog.  

Who says gingerbread men have to be brown?  I pulled out this Layered Gingerbread Men stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and I used some sticky notes to mask off each row of cookies.  I brushed some pink ink over every other row and some green ink on the rows in between.  I went lighter on the inks for the cookie shapes, and then I went heavy on the inks for the second layer with the eyes, mouth, and buttons.  The sentiment (Concord and 9th) was die cut from the same colors and glued to a vellum shadow before being affixed to the card.  So fun!!!

I had so much fun creating this card.  I placed the Forest of Trees stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some soft sage cardstock and spread some glittery green paste over the whole panel.  I love my glittery mediums!  After this was completely dry, I trimmed it down and adhered it to a white card base.  The stamped sentiment (Hero Arts) was added near the top of the card with some foam tape.

I placed the gorgeous Christmas Candles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some black cardstock, and then I spread some pale gold paste over the whole thing.  After it dried, I added the die cut "Noel" in bright red cardstock.  I adhered this black stenciled panel to some gold cardstock, and then I glued this to a bright red card base.  It's clean and simple and perfect for mailing.

O Holy Night - Christmas in July Linky Party

Good morning!  I am having so much fun making Christmas cards this week for the Christmas in July Linky Party on the BYSHC blog.  I've been pulling out various stencils from A Colorful Life Designs and using that inspiration to make my cards.  Today I pulled out the 3 Wise Men stencil and placed it on a navy card base.  I carefully inked up the sky area with a darker blue ink first.  While the stencil was still in place, I sprayed over the inked sky with some Uncharted Mariner Distress Spritz spray.  It's SO shimmery!!  After this dried, I carefully stamped the sentiment (Concord and 9th) at the bottom and I used a white gel pen to add some stars to the sky.

Warm Iridescent Wishes - Christmas in July Linky Party

Good morning!  I'm continuing with the Christmas in July theme today for the Linky Party going on over on the BYSHC blog this week.  Today I'm going with a big iridescent snowflake on this wintry card.  I placed the Prim Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some blue cardstock and I spread some iridescent paste over the panel.  We got these cute little sampler jars of paste in one of the retreats I attended, and I still have plenty of it left, so I might as well use it, right?  After the stenciled panel was completely dry, I adhered it to a white card base and then I glued down the die cut sentiments (Honey Bee Stamps).

Holly Leaf Joy in Sepia - Christmas in July Linky Party

Good morning!  This is Christmas in July week over on the BYSHC blog, and they are celebrating with a week-long linky party.  Just make a Christmas,  Hannukah, Yuletide, or wintry card and share it for a chance to win a prize.  

I wanted to try to create a sepia toned holiday card, so I pulled out the Layered Holly stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  There are two stencils in this set - one with the leaves and one with the berries.  I placed the leaves stencil down first over some beige cardstock and lightly brushed some brown ink all over.  I removed that stencil and placed the berries stencil down and did a heavier application of brown ink.  After I removed the second stencil, I brushed brown ink all around the edges to distress it even more.  Then I added the die cut "JOY" and the stamped sentiment to the center of this card.

Fa La La Reindeer - Christmas in July Linky Party

Gorgeous Circling Path

Good morning!  Today's card is full of gold glittery gorgeous-ness!  

I placed the Circling Path stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some black cardstock and spread some glittery gold paste of the whole thing.  After it dried, I glued this panel to a white card base.  The sentiment (Technique Junkies) was stamped with black ink, trimmed down, and affixed to the card with some foam tape.  Quick and easy and perfect for mailing to a wonderful friend!

Wavy Smile

Good morning!  Have you seen the new Card Bling over at A Colorful Life Designs?  It's a new collection of Luminous colors, and wow..... they are gorgeous.  I used two of those new colors on this card today.

I placed the new Mid Century Waves stencil over some white cardstock and then I spread some pink and purple pastes over the top.  While I had the purple paste open, I also spread some over some scrap paper.  After both of these pieces were dry, I glued the stenciled panel to a white card base.  I used the scrap paper with the purple paste and cut the shadow die word from this so it would match my card.  Then I die cut the actual word "smile" from white cardstock and glued it to the purple shadow die before I adhered it to my card.  I stamped the "You Make Me" with black ink onto some white cardstock, trimmed it down, and adhered it above the "smile."  Lastly, I pulled out the Luminous Whisper Pink and the Luminous Violet Card Bling and affixed them all over the card.

Pink Postage Birthday

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing a really fun card with y'all.  This was one of those experiments to see what would happen and how it would look, and it turned out even better than I expected.  I started by placing the new Around the World stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over some watercolor paper and I taped it down.  Then I spread some white texture paste over the whole thing, intentionally skipping areas for that grungy look.  After I carefully removed the stencil, I set this panel aside to dry.

Once the stenciled panel was completely dry, I misted it with water and then sprinkled some Infusions powders over it and misted it again.  It's mostly pink and purple, but I see pops of bright blue in there as well as some browns and blacks and deep magentas.  It's so fun, and you never get the same results twice.  I set this aside to dry and worked on stamping and cutting out the sentiment.  After the colored panel was dry (again), I die cut it with a postage stamp die, adhered it to a white layer, added the sentiment, and glued this to a black card base.  I also glued some Satin Matte Black Card Bling to the background.  I don't know if I can send this card to someone now because I love it so much!  LOL

Good morning!  Here's a bright and shiny card to help you wake up today.  LOL  The new stencil release from A Colorful Life Designs has some fun mid-century and geometric designs, and I pulled out the Circling Path stencil to use on this card.  It's such a fun and whimsical design.

I placed the Circling Path stencil over a bright mango card and brushed some mango ink over the whole thing.  After I added the sentiment (Taylored Expressions), I pulled out the new Luminous Poolside Card Bling.  It's a gorgeous pale blue, almost turquoise sequin, and it's the opposite color of this mango card on a color wheel.  I had fun gluing these shiny sequins all over the card.
