Live Colorful

Good morning!  The new Paint Strokes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is definitely one of my top ten favorites.  It's so fun to stencil the different paint shapes onto my cards.  For this one, I used every variation of the five different shapes in a rainbow of colors.  I would ink up the stencil one way, then turn it around and use a different paint stroke pattern for another color, and then I repeated the process until I had a full rainbow on my card.  This reminds me of the Pinterest craft project where you glue crayons to a canvas and then just barely melt the crayons until they start running down the canvas.  So much fun!

Hello Peeps Bunnies

Can you believe we have less than three weeks til Easter?  If you need a quick Easter card, this one is perfect.  The new Hello Peeps stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is adorable and it has the bunnies and the sentiment all on the same stencil.  The eyes and nose are in the corner of the stencil so you can place them where you want them after stenciling your bunnies.

I chose a traditional soft pastel Easter palette with purple, pink, and mint green for the bunnies.  Since I used pink on the center bunny, I decided to use that same pink for the sentiment.  Then I went back over the bunnies and stenciled in their eyes and noses with a black ink.  So cute and very quick and easy.  The hardest part, honestly, is just picking the colors!

Those We Love

Today I'm sharing this beautiful stamp from Technique Junkies called Those We Love.  This is perfect for those moments when you need a sympathy card.  I stamped this with black Memento ink, let it dry, and then loosely colored with the flower with Copic markers.  It looks I watercolored this flower, doesn't it?

Good morning, folks!  Today's card features a new stencil from A Colorful Life Designs called Potholder.  This stencil has a quilt-like pattern and it's the perfect background for your warm and cozy cards.  On this card, I stenciled some country blue ink over the Potholder stencil onto some country blue paper.  I then added the sentiment and a rustic bouquet of flowers.  I love the homespun feeling of this card!

Be Fearless

Good morning!  I played with some alcohol inks and created this card from one of my alcohol ink backgrounds.  The background was done by dropping various colors of alcohol inks and some rubbing alcohol onto some photo paper and then using a hand blower to move the drops of color in different directions.  After the inks were completely dry, I placed the gorgeous Corner Bloom stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over the photo paper and spread some Snowdrop White Paper Glaze (Picket Fence Studios) over it.  Once the glaze was dry, I added the white embossed sentiment (Picket Fence Studios) to the background panel and adhered the panel to a white card base.

I wasn't sure if this idea would actually work, so I'm really happy with how this turned out.  I love the bold colors in the background with the white stenciling just giving you little peeks of color between the flower petals.  I'm so glad that the paper glaze dried and remained a true white on the photo paper and the alcohol inks.  Give this fun technique a try - pull out those alcohol inks and make a bunch of backgrounds.  Then put some A Colorful Life Designs stencils over your backgrounds and watch the magic happen!

Fiery Zen Edges

I had a lot of fun creating today's card using new stamps from Technique Junkies.  The new Zen Edges is a boldly drawn abstract stamp set and you can do almost anything you can envision with these stamps.  There are two stamps in this set and you can mix and match and come up with all kinds of combos.

For today's card, I used just one of the Zen Edges stamps - this one has two leaves sticking off to one side.  I stamped this near the top of a white cardstock panel, turned the stamp around, and stamped it again near the bottom of the panel.  

While this was drying, I stamped the I Believe In You with Versamark ink onto some black cardstock.  I covered this with white embossing powder, tapped off the excess powder, and then heated the sentiment with a heat tool to melt the powder.  I set this aside to cool off and returned to my Zen Edges panel.

I picked out some yellow, orange, and red ink pads and some Colorful Blending Brushes and set about coloring the Zen Edges panel.  I started by brushing some yellow ink over the stamped Zen Edges, and then I added some orange ink to the middle areas.  Finally, I added just a touch of red ink to the center of the zen flower petals.

I adhered this colored Zen Edges panel to a black card base and glued the sentiment to the center of the panel.  I love how this turned out with the stamped images offset and ink blended with those fiery hues.

Golden Cranes

Good morning!  Today I am sharing this card I created with the gorgeous Japanese Cranes stamp from Technique Junkies.  I stamped the Japanese Cranes with Versamark ink onto some black cardstock, then covered it with gold embossing powder.  After I tapped off the excess powder, I used a heat tool to melt the gold powder on the black cardstock.  These cranes really come to life with that shiny gold reflecting off the black paper.

I added some gold mats behind the cranes and the gorgeous blue washi paper.  You can see the swirls of gold paint on that blue washi paper.  It's just beautiful.  I adhered all the layers to a black card base.  It's a very clean and simple card but everything is taken up a notch with all the gold accents.

Floral Lace Hugs

Good morning!  I'm popping in with this springy and flowery card today.  I used the gorgeous new Fresh Lace stencil from A Colorful Life Designs along with some yellow and green inks to create that soft, spring-ish background.  I added some rhinestones to the centers of the flowers and a die cut sentiment.  I love this pretty Fresh Lace stencil!  Think of all the fun color combinations you can do with this one.

Celebrate You Doodle

Good morning!  Here's a colorful card to share with you today.  I used the awesome new Organic Doodles stencil from A Colorful Life Designs along with some distress inks to create the fun and colorful background.  It's really fun when you use the three primary colors (pink, blue, and yellow) because when they meet and blend together, you get the secondary colors (green, purple, and orange).  It's just a hint of color here and there, but that's what makes it so fun!  This Organic Doodle stencil is perfect for this kind of abstract colored background.

Coral Blooms

I used the new Corner Bloom stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create this pretty card.  This gorgeous Corner Bloom stencil can be placed in any orientation.  I chose to put this on the lower left side of my pale pink cardstock and then I brushed some orange-pink ink over the the stencil.  I added some pearls and the sentiments and adhered this to a white card base.  It's a sweet and simple card to send to a dear friend.

Paint Strokes Friendship

Did you get your Paint Strokes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs yet?  :-)  Here's another card using Paint Strokes to tip you over the edge.  LOL  

This time I used another one of the brush strokes in the stencil but as an ombre teal background instead of a rainbow.  I slightly overlapped each color and staggered the stencil for a fun offset look.  I'm telling you, I could have played with this stencil for a week and never created the same card twice.  It's so much fun to play with this Paint Strokes stencil.

Let's Get Crafty

There's some great new stencils in the A Colorful Life Designs store today.  One of them is this awesome Paint Strokes stencil.  There are five different paint stroke patterns on the stencil.  I actually used the same broad stroke to stencil five different colors onto my card.  I turned the stencil upside down after each color so you could see the different shapes that you get from just one of the paint strokes.  There are so many different ways you can use this Paint Strokes stencil - so much fun!

For my first card today, I've used the beautiful new Japanese Cranes stamp.  I stamped it with some black ink onto white cardstock, and then I roughed up some gorgeous washi paper for the background.

For my second card, I used the beautiful Blooming Dogwood Blossoms.  I stamped it twice with Versamark onto some pink cardstock and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I paired this background with a sentiment from the previously released Lavender Friendship Sentiments set.

The next card showcases the new Zen Edges set.  I had so much fun with this one.  On this card, I stamped it with black ink and then colored in the different sections with Copic markers.  It's such a fun set and there's so many different ways to use it.  The sentiment is the previously released Something Creative.
