For my first card today, I stamped the cute new A Little Black Cat with permanent black ink.  I stamped it again on a sticky note and made a mask to cover up the kitty.  Then I placed the Paws stencil from A Colorful Life Designs over the bottom half of the card and very softly brushed some pale blue ink through the stencil.

The next five cards were a joy to create.  I used the new Forget Me Nots background stamp on all of them, matching the color of the ink to the color of the cardstock.  Then I used a darker shade of the respective colors to stamp the sentiments from the new Five Fab Phrases set.  This sentiment set is a definite MUST HAVE for your stamping collection.  Look at all the different greetings I was able to use on these five cards.

Get Well Bouquet in Blue

This week we are focusing on get well cards for the WWDB (What We Do Best) challenge over on the Technique Junkies Facebook group.  I stamped the beautiful new Milk Bottle Bouquet stamp with blue ink and then brushed the same blue ink all over the edges with an ink blending brush.  The sentiment is from the Floral Framed Sentiments set, and I stamped it with the same blue ink.  For my envelope, I inked up the bouquet with the blue ink, but I stamped it off on scratch paper first before pressing it down on my envelope.

Come join us in the WWDB challenges!  You could win $50 just for playing along!

Colorful Batik Butterfly Collage

Good morning!  I'm here to share this colorful batik butterfly collage card with y'all today.  This Butterfly Collage with Text is from the new April release over at Technique Junkies, and it's a gorgeous background stamp.  After I stamped it with black ink, I placed the Primitive Batik stencil over it and used the ink blending brushes to apply green, blue, and pink ink all over.  You can see where some of the colors blended together to make a fun pop of turquoise or a purple hue.

This was a fun and easy card to create.  What colors would you use with this Butterfly Collage with Text stamp and the Primitive Batik stencil??

For my first card today, I stamped the beautiful new Milk Bottle Bouquet with Versamark, covered it with white embossing powder, and heated it with a heat tool.  Since we are coming up on Mother's Day in May, I thought it would be perfect to add the Happy Mother's Day sentiment to this card.

This next card was an experiment and I loved it so much, I am going to set aside some time to make a dozen more.  First, I stamped the fabulous new Butterfly Collage with Text using some permanent black ink onto white cardstock.  Next, I pulled out my much neglected Distress Stains (remember those??) and picked three coordinating colors.  Here, I used Tumbled Glass, Milled Lavender, and Dusty Concord.  A word of warning - the Dusty Concord is no longer purple.  It actually changed color in the years that it was sitting in a dark cool place, and it is now a deep denim blue-ish color.  But the three colors looked great together, and after I added sequins and the purple organdy ribbon, it all came together beautifully.

My last card for today features two new stamps - Lotus Corner and Anything is Possible.  I stamped the Lotus Corner with black Memento ink and colored it with Copic markers.  The sentiment is stamped with the same black ink.  To give this card a feeling of the flowers sitting on water, I placed the Primitive Batik stencil over the flowers and lightly brushed some blue ink through the stencil.

Yellow Roses Birthday

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all staying safe in your homes and finding some time to get creative.  I wanted to share this watercolored roses card with y'all today.  I stamped the beautiful new Old Fashioned Roses from Technique Junkies with a permanent gray ink onto watercolor paper.  After the ink was completely dry, I watercolored the entire piece with some watercolor paints.

The sentiment, which is from the new You are Old set, was stamped with the same gray ink onto some white cardstock.  I cut this out with a tag die, threaded some yellow ribbon through the holes, and taped the ribbon to the back before attaching the piece to a yellow card base.

Just a reminder that our 25% off sale is continuing through 3-29-20. Simply use the code SAVE25 at checkout. It will work on EVERYTHING in stock in the Technique Junkies Store (retail orders only).

Foiled Floral Silhouettes

Good morning, Junkies!  I'm back to share some foiled floral silhouettes with you today.  Did you see the new foils in the Technique Junkies store?  They are so much fun to play with!

I stamped the Floral Silhouette1 and a masked off portion of the You Are Old sentiment with Versamark onto some black cardstock.  I covered the stamped images with clear embossing powder and melted it with a heat tool.  Then the fun part began!  I cut some Bright Gold foil to cover the stamped areas and placed it with the colored foil side UP on my card.  Then I ran it through my heated laminator and carefully peeled the foil off to reveal this great card.

Truth be told, this was my first time playing with foil.  I didn't know what temperature my laminator should be on, so it was a trial and error period until I got the fun bumpy textured look that you see in the card above.  My first five attempts looked like the card on the left below.  My laminator was so hot it melted the embossing powder and the foil completely flat.  There's nothing wrong with that if that is the look you are going for, but you can see how it spread out the letters in the sentiment and made it unreadable.  So I turned the temperature down in small increments until I got this gilded, textured look on the right side.  Pat made a video on using the foils HERE if you'd like to watch it.

Go check out all the colors of foil in the store.  If you're like me, you need them ALL!!  Feel free to use my code, TJ10Holly, to help you save money when you shop at Technique Junkies.  :-)

Puppy Week - Snack Dog

Welcome back to Puppy Week on my blog!  This is my third and final card using a new pet-themed stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  This month's release is all about pets - puppies, kitties, and birds.  I'm allergic to birds and cats, but thankfully, I have no problems with puppies.

On my card today, I had fun brushing some green and blue inks over the Paws 6x6 stencil.  I used Mowed Lawn and Faded Jeans distress inks for the background, and then I stamped the sentiment/puppy with Faded Jeans distress ink.  The stamp, I'll be Watching You from Technique Junkies, is SO true!!!!!!!!!!  LOL  You can use my code, TJ10Holly, when you shop for stamps at Technique Junkies.

This Paws stencil is perfect for all my puppy stamps.  I'm going to get so much use out of this one.  Go check out the stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs and use my code, HollyFan10.  I hope you've enjoyed Puppy Week here on my blog.  Thanks for visiting!
