Poinsettia Season - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning!  I've been having fun creating some Christmas cards for the Spring into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog this week, and I wanted to play with some new poinsettia dies today.  I pulled out these Garden Variety Poinsettia dies from Taylored Expressions and cut out the petals, leaves, and stamen.  I covered the stamen with some distress Stickles and set it aside to dry.  Meanwhile, I brushed some kraft ink over the beautiful Christmas Greenery stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) onto a kraft cardstock panel.

After I assembled the poinsettia onto the stenciled kraft panel, I stamped the sentiment (Taylored Expressions), temporarily covered it with scratch paper, and splattered the whole thing with white acrylic paint.  The final touch was to add some more of the distress Stickles to the panel and let it dry before I glued this to a white card base.

Heartflakes Season - BYSHC Linky Party

 

Good morning!  I've been having fun creating some Christmas cards for the Spring into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog this week, and this one was a fun experiment.

I brushed some pink oxide ink over some watercolor cardstock, placed the Heartflakes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save 10%) over this panel, and then used a baby wipe to remove some of the ink through the stencil openings.  It's a very rustic, distressed background, and it almost looks like snowflakes.  I splattered this panel with some white acrylic ink and set it aside to dry.  

After I die cut a large white circle, I added it to the side of the pink Heartflakes panel and trimmed the excess.  Then I added this fun pink house sticker (Doodlepops) along with the blue hearts and the silvery white snowflakes to the card.  The sentiment (Hero Arts) was stamped, trimmed, and adhered below the house.  How cute is that??

Snowman Advent Cards - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning!  I've been having fun creating some Christmas cards for the Spring into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog this week, and today's cards were a big project.  I got a crafty Advent calendar in December 2025, and each day's surprise was inside a snowman envelope.  I cut all these envelopes so I could use these snowmen on some holiday cards.  Some are mini slimline cards, and some are regular A2 cards.  I stamped and die cut different sentiments and added some punched holly leaves and red Stickles to all of the cards.

Slanted Chevrons with Moonshine

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this card that I created with the new Slanted Chevrons stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.  I placed the stencil over some white cardstock and then I brushed some blue and purple inks over that, blending the two colors together where they met in the middle.  After I added the die cut sentiment (Altenew), I glued some of the gorgeous new Moonshine Card Bling around the sentiment.  Just look at that glow from the Moonshine Card Bling.  I love it!

Be Merry Candy Canes - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning!  I've been having fun creating some Christmas cards for the Spring into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog this week, and these pink candy canes are putting a big ol' smile on my face.  

I started by placing the Candy Canes stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save 10%) over a pink card base and then I brushed some pink ink over all the candy canes.  Next, I stamped the holiday mug, colored it with Copic markers, and cut it out with the matching die (Pink & Main).  To help this holiday mug stand out from the candy cane background, I die cut a stitched oval (Pink & Main) from white cardstock, adhered about 2/3rds of it to the bottom edge of the card and trimmed the excess.  Some pink ribbon was tied around the card before I adhered the holiday mug with foam tape.  Lastly, I die cut the sentiment (Pink & Main) and adhered that to the card with foam tape.

Season's Greetings Postage Scene - BYSHC Linky Party

Good morning!  I'm back with a quick and easy card for the Spring into Christmas Linky Party on the BYSHC blog.  I got this wintery postage scene ephemera as a sweet freebie with one of my orders, and I was determined to use it before I lost it under a mound of other UFO's on my table.  I pulled out some red cardstock and brushed some white pigment ink over the Falling Snow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save 10%).  Yes, it's white ink but it dried to this off-white, almost grayish color, and I'm actually not mad about it.  It ties in nicely with the colors in the scene as well as the sentiment strip that I added behind the postage scene.

Zig Zag Hugs

Good morning!  Have you seen the gorgeous new stencils in the April release at A Colorful Life Designs?  This month is a fun mix of geometric designs and large circles which are perfect for card backgrounds.  I used the new Throwing Zig Zags stencil for the background on this card.

I brushed some coral ink over the Throwing Zig Zags stencil onto a soft coral panel and trimmed it down.  This was adhered to a brown base and then I added the white die cut oval to the center.  The die cut flower (Concord and 9th) was die cut, ink blended, and glued onto the white oval and then I added the die cut sentiment (Altenew) over the bottom of the flower.

Retro Candle Christmas

Good morning!  I went a little different with my card today.  I was playing with the new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, and I was grooving along with the retro vibe of these and this card just sort of put itself together.  It's kind of retro yet mod at the same time, right??

I brushed some berry ink over the gorgeous candle in the Retro Christmas Tree stencil and then cut this out with a circle die.  I added a larger berry circle behind this candle and set it aside.  The garland from the Retro Candy Canes stencil was placed over some berry cardstock and I brushed the same berry ink over this garland, moved the stencil down and inked it up again.  I didn't want to cover up the entire garland so I just added part of a black scalloped border to the right side of the card and adhered the candle to that.  Then I added the sentiment (Hero Arts) right below the candle.

Candy Cane Hearts Cocoa

Good morning!  Have you seen the gorgeous new holiday stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs?  I love the new Starry Heart Candy Canes stencil, and I couldn't resist adding a mug of hot cocoa with a candy cane in it on this card.  

You might be wondering where the stars are.  I masked those off so when I brushed red ink over this stencil, only the candy canes were inked up.  It's a quick and easy way to change up this stencil for a different look.  I also masked around one of the candy cane hearts and placed it right over the blue cup.  I spread some glitter paste over this one and let it dry.  After I assembled this mug (Pretty Pink Posh), I adhered it to the card with some vellum behind it, and the sentiment (Pinkfresh Studio) was adhered below the glittery heart on the cup.

Let It Snow Shaker Card

Good morning!  There's a brand new stencil release over at A Colorful Life Designs today, and it's all about Christmas this month.  There are some fun new designs, from candy cane hearts to branches to deer and retro images.  I decided to make a fun shaker card today with the new Little Snowfall stencil.  I brushed some light blue ink over the stencil onto some white cardstock, and then wrapped the front of the stenciled panel with some recycled plastic.  After I taped the plastic to the back on three sides, I poured some Card Bling in the top opening.  The gorgeous Card Bling colors I used are:

Arch Poinsettia Greetings

Good morning!  Did you see the new stencil release over at A Colorful Life Designs?  We are all about the holidays this month, and it's my favorite time of the year!  The holiday card ideas are flowing and I'm inspired by all the wonderful new stencils.

I love the new Marvelous Masks Arch stencils, and I wanted to experiment to see if I could get an arch "frame" out of two of the stencils/masks.  I placed the 4.25" stencil over an aqua card and taped it down.  Then I placed the smaller 4" mask inside the stencil and used a magnet to hold it in place while I carefully brushed some bronze ink between the stencil and the mask.  When I removed those, I did have a frame!  Cool!  After I stamped the sentiment (Hero Arts) and adhered the poinsettia and foliage, I splattered some gold and white paints over this card.
