Silver Foil Dream

Still playing with foil! LOL This time I used the Stars stencil and spread some Transfer Gel Duo paste over it onto black cardstock. After I let the paste dry for a few hours, I laid some silver foil over it, pressed it down with my fingers, and carefully peeled it away. It's so shiny!

For the sentiment, I covered some black cardstock with double-sided adhesive, laid some silver foil onto it, and carefully peeled it away. Then I put my "dream" die over that and cut it out. It has a sort of hammered metal look to it due to being rolled through a die-cutting machine.

Reverse Foil Christmas Flowers

If you remember the red foil Christmas Flowers card I posted four days ago (you can see it in THIS post), you'll understand what I did here. When I peeled the foil off that card four days ago, I was left with the reverse image of the flowers on the foil "waste." It was so pretty, I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away.

So I covered some white cardstock with double sided adhesive and pressed this reverse foil piece onto that sticky tape. The white areas that you see is where it was bare plastic - no foil on those areas. So when I was peeling the foil away, that bare plastic was stuck to that adhesive. I pulled out some old Rock Candy Glitter and covered those exposed adhesive areas as I pulled the foil away. I love this background so much! It's shiny from the foil and subtly glittery from the distress glitter.

Moral of the story - don't throw away the foil! :-)

Glittery Blue Christmas Flowers

It's Day 10 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I played with the gorgeous Christmas Flowers stencil again. I sprayed my paper with Silver Shimmering Bliss and let it dry. Then I spread some Navy Blue Aladine Diamond Glitter Paint over the Christmas Flowers stencil. After that dried, I added the sentiment from the Poinsettias set. Come play along in our challenge!

Gel Press Christmas Rose

It's Day 9 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I decided to try something new. I pulled out some of my gel press prints and stamped the Christmas Rose on three of them (blue, green, pink). I then cut and paper pieced the rose and leaves onto the blue print. The sentiment is from Victorian Greetings and I added a little rhinestone to the center of the flower. Come play along in our challenge!

Warm and Cozy Cup of Cheer

It's Day 8 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I'm sharing a warm and cozy card today. I stamped Perfect Blend onto some kraft cardstock and colored the cup with Copic markers. I placed the Buffalo Plaid stencil (A Colorful Life Designs) over the whole piece and used an Ink Blending Brush to add some red and brown inks around the cup. Come play along in our challenge!

Red Foil Christmas Flowers

It's Day 6 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I'm sharing this bright red foiled card with you today. If you bought or are planning to purchase the fabulous Foiled Christmas Flowers kit from Technique Junkies, you will already have the stencil, the paste, and the red foil to make this card.

I spread the Transfer Gel Duo paste through the Christmas Flowers stencil (A Colorful Life Designs) onto some black cardstock, let it dry for a few hours, and then placed the Candy Apple Red foil on top of the tacky paste. I simply used my fingers to press the foil into the raised areas and slowly peeled the foil off. I colored the Merry Christmas sentiment with Copic markers and adhered it to the center of the card. Warm Poinsettia Wishes

It's Day 5 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I'm sharing this deep red poinsettia card with you today. I used both the large and small poinsettias from the Poinsettias set stamped in dark red ink on the background. The sentiment, also from the Poinsettias set, is stamped with the same dark red ink onto some rustic white cardstock. To give the background a little extra interest, I used a gold paint pen in the centers of the poinsettias. Come play along in our challenge!

Distressed Sheet Music Christmas

It's Day 4 of the Technique Junkies Christmas in July challenge, and I'm sharing this distressed/vintage card with you today. I stamped the Oh Holy Night (sheet music) onto some vanilla cardstock, and then stamped some poinsettias from the Poinsettias set all over. I pulled out my oxide inks and darkened the edges before roughing them up with a distress tool. Lastly, I added the sentiment from Victorian Greetings.

Dandelion Rainbow

Good morning!  Today I'm sharing this dandelion rainbow card.  I started by stamping the fun new Modern Dandelions from Technique Junkies with Versamark ink onto some kraft cardstock.  I covered the image with white embossing powder and melted it with a heat tool.  While I had the white powder out, I stamped the Guide Your Wishes sentiment (also from Technique Junkies) with Versamark, covered it with the white embossing powder, and melted that with the heat tool, as well.

To make the dandelions really stand out, I pulled out a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks and covered each dandelion head with ink using a finger dauber.  When I was done with all five colors, I used a soft paper towel to lightly burnish the ink off the embossing powder.  I added the sentiment below the "rainbow" and adhered this to a kraft card base.

Foiled Best Guy

I decided to try something different today, and I pulled out some foils and my Transfer Gel Duo paste. I spread the Duo paste through the awesome new Dancing Sprigs stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and let it dry completely. Then I placed this green foil over the dry-but-tacky paste and pressed it in with my fingertips. When I pulled off the foil, I actually did a little dance! LOL This is so cool and so much fun! This will be a fun birthday card for one of the guys in the family.

Wildflower and a Brick Wall

I've been playing with the new July release stencils from A Colorful Life Designs today. I used the Brick Wall stencil (LOVE LOVE LOVE!) with the new Single Bloom Wildflower stencil. These are a match made in heaven!

I started by brushing some rustic red ink over the Brick Wall stencil onto some vanilla cardstock, and then I deepened the color toward the bottom with some brown ink. I brushed the same brown ink over the Single Bloom Wildflower stencil with a heavier hand, and then I stamped the sentiment. I love it when a card comes together quickly and easily. I can make a ton of these in different colors and I can use different wildflower stencils with this brick wall. Yes, you read that right - there are other wildflower stencils in the new July release!
