Tis The Season Fig Wreath

Good morning!  I was in the mood for a non-traditional Christmas card, so I pulled out this gorgeous new Layered Holly Berry Wreath stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and placed it on some Pebble cardstock (a sort of pale gray/kraft color).  I stenciled the leaves with Tidepool and Juniper inks and the berries with Fig ink.  It's a fun new color combo and I love it!

After I stamped the sentiment in the center with Fig ink, I added some Crystal Metallic Chameleon Card Bling (A Colorful Life Designs) all around the wreath.  I love that bright sparkle on this wreath!  This stenciled panel was then glued to a Fig card base.  The sentiment stamp, the inks, and the cardstock are all from Concord & 9th.

Holly Jolly Leaves

Good morning!  I love making Christmas cards and I have a pretty good stash of them by now, so I should be good to go in December.  This is one of the cards I made with the new Holly Berry Set stencil from A Colorful Life Designs.

I placed the stencil onto a white card and randomly moved it around to fill up the background of the card.  The leaves were colored with Avocado ink and the berries were colored with Honeysuckle ink (Concord & 9th).  For a bit of interest, I splattered some glossy black spray (Dina Wakley) over the card.  While that was drying, I die cut the sentiment and the shadow from Avocado, Honeysuckle, and Black cardstocks and glued them together.  Once I was sure the black splatter was dry, I affixed the sentiment with some foam tape.

Feel free to use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% off your entire order (excluding Master Creator Bundles) at A Colorful Life Designs.  You can use this code on stencils, stamps, and Card Bling, so have fun shopping!  Have a great weekend!

Holly Jolly on Kraft

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

Today's card is probably my favorite - it even has my name on it!!  LOL  I used the Layered Holly stencils from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) on a kraft card, with green ink brushed over the leaf stencil and glittery red paste spread over the berry stencil.  After the paste dried, I added a small white die cut circle to the center with a kraft die cut sentiment (scrapbook.com) and some punched leaves and berries.

I hope you had a chance to play along in the linky party this week.  I have lots of fun new cards for my Christmas card stash and now it's time to start addressing envelopes.  Happy Holidays!!

Simple Ombre Tree

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I placed the Line Tree stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a white card and used a small brush to ink up the star at the top with yellow ink.  Then I inked up the tree with three green inks for an ombre going from light to dark.  The four small lines at the bottom were inked up with some brown ink.  I pulled out some red rhinestones and placed them all over the tree for the sparkly ornaments.  I thought about a sentiment but I really didn't want to cover up the tree or the red rhinestones, so the sentiment is inside the card.  This is a quick and easy card to mass produce - it took me longer to add all the red rhinestones than it did to stencil the card.

Purple Holidays

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

For today's card, I pulled out the gorgeous Dotted Poinsettia stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save).  I wanted a different holiday color for this card, so I went with a pale purple cardstock and I brushed a darker grape purple ink over the stencil.  The Crystal Metallic Quicksilver Card Bling from A Colorful Life Designs has a slight purple undertone, so it is perfect with this purple card.  I die cut the sentiment (Concord & 9th) from grape cardstock and the shadow from metallic silver cardstock.  Now's the time to use those special papers and embellishments, right??

Happy Holidays Pile of Gifts

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I placed the Pile of Presents stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a white card and sponged some green and teal inks all over that.  I left the stencil in place until the inks dried, and then I lightly sponged a little bit more ink here and there to vary the intensity of the green color.  After I removed the stencil, I added a red glitter die cut sentiment (scrapbook.com) for a little bit of sparkle.

Fa La La Lights

Good morning!  There is a fun new week-long linky party on the BYSHC blog and I'm playing along.  All you need to do is make a holiday or wintry card and enter it into the linky party.  I love making Christmas cards, so I cranked out several cards to share with you throughout this week.

I pulled out the Layered String Lights stencils from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) and brushed green and red inks over these onto some white cardstock.  There is some space between the lights and it's perfect for a small sentiment, so I stamped the large "fa la la" (Concord & 9th) with black ink onto some white cardstock, trimmed it, and layered it with some black cardstock.  Then I used that as a guide for the sub-sentiment so I could center it and stamped it between the two lower strands of lights.  I'm so happy that it worked out!
