Freckled Irish Blessing

Good morning!  The new Layered Freckled Clover stencil from A Colorful Life Designs is such a fun take on the traditional clovers.  I love the little freckled spots on the clovers - so cute!!

I created this card by placing the Layered Freckled Clover stencil (the open clovers) onto a pale mint green card base and I brushed a soft green ink over the area.  I removed this first stencil and placed the freckled stencil down and brushed a darker green ink over the stenciled clovers.  

The sentiment (Verses Rubber Stamps) was stamped with a dark green ink onto some white cardstock and trimmed.  I masked off one of the clovers from the first Layered Freckled Clover stencil, placed it over the stamped sentiment, and brushed the pale green ink over that.  This white panel was adhered to a dark green layer and then affixed to the card.

Freckled St. Patrick's Day

Here's a fun St. Patrick's Day card using some new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  I combined three stencils - Three Clovers, Happy St. Patrick's Day, and Layered Freckled Clover - to create this card.  I began by placing the Happy St. Patrick's Day stencil onto some white cardstock and I brushed some green ink over the sentiment.  Then I placed the Three Clovers stencil around the sentiment and brushed green ink over each clover.  To get those fun speckles inside the clovers, I used the freckled layer from the Layered Freckled Clover stencil and brushed a darker green ink over those.  After I adhered this stenciled panel to a green card, I added some gorgeous Crystal Opaque Christmas Green Card Bling all over the card.

Dotted Swirl Smiles

Good morning!  There's a great new stencil release at A Colorful Life Designs and I've had a blast playing with several of these new stencils.  I created this card by pairing two of the new stencils together for an unexpected look that I really love.

I placed the new Abstract Swirls stencil over some aqua cardstock and brushed an aqua ink over the whole panel.  After I removed the stencil, I wondered what would happen if I stenciled the Dotted Flowers over this panel.  Sometimes you just gotta try things and see how it goes, so I placed the Dotted Flowers stencil over the aqua cardstock and brushed a darker teal ink over that.  How cool is that?  I couldn't cover up that fun background, so I cut the sentiment (Impression Obsession) from white cardstock and adhered it to the center of the double-stenciled panel.  This panel was then glued to a white card base.

Lucky You Married Me

 I pulled out the new Happy St. Patrick's Day stencil to make a cute anniversary card.  I placed the stencil so that the large clover sprig was in the center of a white cardstock panel and I brushed some green ink over that.  Then I removed the stencil and stamped the sentiment and sub-sentiment (Simon Says Stamp) with a darker green ink.  I added a few Metallic Gold Card Bling underneath the sub-sentiment, adhered this panel to a dark green layer and then to a white card base.

Hey There Bold Flower

I placed the beautiful new Bold Flower stencil over a white card and covered up the flower petals with a sticky note.  I brushed some green ink on the leaves, moved the sticky note to cover the leaves, and brushed some pink ink on the center of the flower.  I went over the tips of the flower petals with a yellow ink and then I used some more pink ink to blend the areas where the yellow meets the pink.  Then I placed the new Shadowed Hugs and Hello stencil and brushed some brown ink over the sentiment and added a few Satin Matte Chocolate Brown Card Bling.  Isn't that fun?

Beautiful Day Buds

Good morning!  I really love the new Spring Buds stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, so I have one more card to share with you featuring that stencil.  Sometimes when I've been watercoloring or doing mixed media, I will smoosh some white cardstock into the leftover inks/paints to soak up the colors.  Why waste all that ink or paint, right?  So I have a little pile of papers in all kinds of different colors, and I pulled out this one that has some pale green with touches of yellow here and there.

I placed the Spring Buds stencil over this colored paper and brushed some darker green ink over the panel.  This panel wasn't distressed enough, so I splattered some white paint over this and set it aside to dry.  I die cut this with a rectangle die and then I cut some white cardstock with a layering scallop die.  I used the same green ink from stenciling to ink up the edges of this scallop rectangle.  I glued the die cut sentiment (Concord & 9th) to the center of the stenciled panel, adhered this to the green scallop rectangle with some foam tape, and then adhered this to a white card base.

Hot Cocoa Love

Good morning!  Do you love hot cocoa like I do?  I don't drink coffee, but I do love my hot cocoa.  I was so happy when A Colorful Life Designs created this Love Language stencil with hot cocoa and tea options along with the ever-popular coffee.  When I saw the cup, I compared it to the hearts on the Heart with Options stencil and I knew what I had to do!!

I started by placing the Love Language stencil onto a white card with the cup near the bottom of the cart.  I brushed some brown ink over the cup and the steam rising from the top of the cup.  I moved the stencil to place the hot cocoa sentiment next to the steam and brushed some blue ink over that sentiment.  Next, I placed the Heart with Options stencil over the cup so that the decorative heart was centered inside the cup and I brushed some blue ink over that heart.  Lastly, I used a sparkly gel pen in a blue color and colored in all the hearts around the steam.  How's that for a cute cocoa card?
