Sweet Gingerbread Season

There is a new Mid Month Inspiration stencil on sale for only $4 until October 22 at A Colorful Life Designs, and this month it is a fun new Gingerbread House stencil.  How cute is that???  This is going to be so fun to use for holiday cards.

I did something a little bit different this time.  I started by placing the Gingerbread House stencil over some brown cardstock, and then I traced the edges of the house with a pencil and fussy cut it with scissors.  Then I moved the stencil so that the details fit inside the house and I spread some glittery white paste over that.  While this paste was drying, I splattered some white paint over a blue card and cut out some "snowbanks" with scissors.  I lightly brushed some blue ink over the tops of the white snowbanks and roughly applied some of the same glittery white paste to the top edges of those snowbanks.  When the house was dry, I splattered some white paint over that and set that aside to dry while I glued the snowbanks onto the blue card.  The house was adhered with some foam tape and I added the sentiment (Hero Arts) above the house.
