Season of Joy distressed card
Just a quick little post before I go and make supper. I created this card last night in response to a sketch challenge from my friend Debby. I stamped on Confetti White, and it was just too bright for the card, so I toned it down by sponging Distress Inks on the edges. Old Paper and Walnut were both sponged on, and it gives the card a nice distressed look.
At first I just had the wide red grosgrain ribbon on there, but it was just overpowering the whole card. So I layered Wasabi stitched ribbon on top of it, and it looks much better. I rather like double-layering the ribbon now. Isn't it a cool effect?
I needed something to fill up the space in the upper right side, and buttons are perfect for that. The paper is from Basic Grey's Blitzen Collection (yummy papers!), and the cardstock colors are Wasabi, Confetti White, and Real Red.
How about a little mini-challenge for you? Make a card with Confetti White, Wasabi, and Real Red. Have fun and show me what you create! :-)
