Be Mine accordian card

Hi folks!! I've got a fun Valentine card to share with y'all today. Yup, I actually made a Valentine's card BEFORE February!! Hee hee hee!

This card is a Zig Zag accordian card from the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD from Technique Junkies. I added some of the patterned paper to the accordian folds and punched some hearts from the same patterned paper pad. They are sticking out of the accordian folds with the help of some silver wire.

The large red heart at the back of this card was cut from the Sweet Cakes 6x6 paper pad and adhered to a large white Scallop Heart (cut from the Classic Scallop Heart die set). I die cut the letters I needed to spell out my sentiment and adhered them with the Quickie Glue Pen. Lastly, I fashioned a tiny bow from the coordinating bakers twine and adhered that above the sentiment.

Caring Cameo

Hi friends!  I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend!  I want to share this card that I created with one of the beautiful cameos from the Classy Cards 'n Such store. You can see all of the resin cameos by clicking on the Embellish tab and scrolling down. Aren't they beautiful??

I used the following items to create this card:

Silhouette Bulk Pack - Girl with Bird
Lacey Ovals die (Spellbinders)
Labels 18 die (Spellbinders)
Hugs and Kisses stamp set (JustRite)
Shabby Music background stamp (JustRite)
Flower Flourish embossing folder

I started by die cutting a brown oval slightly larger than my pretty blue cameo, and then I cut a Lacey Oval from vanilla cardstock and adhered these together. The blue layer was cut from the Labels 18 die and then embossed with the Flower Flourish folder, and then I used the Cuttlebug Highlights technique from Technique Junkies on it.

I stamped the Shabby Music background on brown cardstock and rounded off the top corners with a corner punch. I adhered the Lacey Oval/cameo piece to the the blue Labels 18 die cut, and then I adhered that to my music background. I adhered this brown square to a vanilla cardstock layer (with the top corners rounded off) and then stamped the The Just Because sentiment at the bottom. I wrapped some blue seam binding around this vanilla layer between the music background and the sentiment and then adhered this to a blue card base (also with the top corners rounded off).

I love how this card turned out - so pretty and romantic. Snowflake Thank You

Hi y'all!  Has it been cold where you are today?  It's really cold here, and I'm snuggled up in sweats and socks staying warm.  We had some sleet across this region this morning, and we may have some more tomorrow morning.  So how about a snowflake card to start us off on this wintry week?

I started with a couple of patterned papers and I cut the blue plaid paper with a fishtail notch using scissors. Next, I used the Snowflake 5 die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and cut it out twice, once with white cardstock and once with blue cardstock. I cut a smaller snowflake with the Snowflowers Set1 die (Cheery Lynn Designs) from white cardstock. I layered the large blue snowflake over the large white one, and then I layered the small white snowflower over the large blue snowflake. A blue button was adhered to the center and the entire snowflake was adhered to the left side of the patterned papers.

I stamped the Thank You from the Sweet Wishes stamp set (Stampavie) with some plum ink near the bottom of the card. The bottom corners were rounded off with a corner punch, and I wrapped some Chalk White seam binding around the top of the card.

Winter White Snowflowers

Hi friends!  I was checking out the challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog and I was inspired to create this wintery white card.  The products from Classy Cards 'n Such that I used are:

I embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Holiday Magic folder and adhered it to a white card base. I then die cut all the pieces you see on this card and loosely arranged them to see how they would fit. Once I was satisfied with the arrangement, I glued everything down. That consisted of starting with the ferns, and then I tucked the flourish die cuts in next to the ferns. The Olive Branches were the next thing to be glued down, and then I reached for my flowers.

The flowers were created by cutting the Judy's Blooms flowers twice and layering them on top of each other. The two Snowflowers die cuts were added to the top of my flower blooms and rhinestone brads were affixed to the centers of each of the three flowers. I glued the flowers down onto my card and then added the Wreath Strip pieces here and there to fill in and give additional texture to my card.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment with a gray ink and cut it out with an oval die. I tucked that in to an empty spot in the middle of the card.

Suede Bird Cage

Hi folks!  I was inspired by the colors and the design team samples on the Color Throwdown Challenge, and I decided to make a bird cage card. I've used the following products from Classy Cards 'n Such:

I started with a vanilla card base and I stamped the sentiment with suede ink at the bottom. A layer of suede cardstock with the corners rounded off was adhered just above the sentiment. Next, a sheet of patterned paper from the Magnolia Grove pad with the corners rounded off was adhered to the suede cardstock on the card.

Now the real fun started by die cutting the bird, the bird cage, the leaves, the flowers, and the wreath sprigs. I adhered the suede bird cage to the patterned paper and then used Joy foam to adhere the bird in the center of the cage. I glued some leaves around the right side of the cage as well as along the bottom, and then added some vanilla wreath sprigs. The flowers were cut from kraft cardstock and rolled up and then adhered to the corner of the bird cage.

This was a big step outside of my comfort zone. I love how these colors complement each other and it was great to have an excuse to play with my new bird cage die! :-)

Doily Friends

Hi friends!  I've got a sweet and feminine card to share with you today. I fell in love with the pretty Whimsy Hearts mini assortment over at Classy Cards 'n Such, and I created this card as soon as I got these mini hearts in my mailbox.

You can get these resin hearts in the assortment package or you can get individual colors. Look under the "Embellish" tab on the last page - you'll see all the Whimsy Hearts there. (I confess, I also got the Whimsy Perfect Petals and I can't wait to put those on some cards!)

For my card today, I used the following products from Classy Cards 'n Such:

French Pastry Doily Die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Cuties 3 die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Whimsy Hearts mini assortment
Dream stamp set (Stampavie)
Medallion Five D-Lites dies (Spellbinders)
Love Letters 6x6 paper pad
Joy Foam Pads small

I started out with a regular A2 card base in a pale pink cardstock and set that aside. I cut a smaller layer of burgundy cardstock and adhered two strips of paper from the Love Letters 6x6 paper pad. I die cut the French Pastry Doily Die from white cardstock, cut that in half, and adhered that to the striped paper. Next, I die cut the Cuties 3 from pale pink paper and added that below the white doily. (FYI - you don't have to make flowers from the Cuties dies - they make awesome borders as well!)

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the rose paper and I wrapped some pale green ribbon around the card layer between the doily and the Cuties 3 border. Once my bow was secure, I glued this card layer to my pale pink card base.

I used the two dies from the Medallion Five set to cut some burgundy cardstock and some pale pink cardstock. I glued the pale pink medallion piece to the burgundy piece, and then I affixed the green resin Whimsy Heart to the center. The medallion was adhered to my card with some Joy foam pads. Isn't that little green heart a sweet addition to this dainty card?

Lacy Heart Smile

Hi folks!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had a wonderful time with our family.  Ahhhhhh.  It's hard to believe this year is almost over - it sort of feels like it just got started!  LOL

I was checking out the challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog, and this week is all about Lace (real or faux).  I was in the mood to make a fun and cute card today, and I just pulled out some things and played around. This is what I came up with.

I started with a kraft card base, 11" x 4.25", and folded the 11" in half to make a regular A2 sized card, 5.5" x 4.25". I stamped the fun sentiment from Anytime Sentiments (Impression Obsession) near the top of the card with some black ink. Next, I cut out a white doily from the French Pastry Doily Die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and then cut it in half. I adhered one half of the doily to the middle of my card.

I pulled out the Doodlebug Sweet Cakes 6x6 paper pad and found a sweet pink gridded paper, cut out a lacy border from the Anastasia border die (Cheery Lynn Designs), and adhered that to the top of the white doily. I like this combination of the two lacy-looking die cuts together.  

With the Sweet Cakes papers already out on my table, I picked five different patterns and die cut Classic Scallop Hearts (Spellbinders) from each of them and then glued them down on the card in a random fashion. The last thing I did was wrap some Doodle Twine Sweet Cakes Valentine Assortment bakers twine around the card between the sentiment and the pink border.

This card can be a Valentine's card, an anniversary card, a general "I Love You" card, or a "Just Because" type of card. The whimsical font of the sentiment is what inspired me to make this fun and colorful card.
