Envelope of Flowers

This week's challenge on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog is Garden Party, and I've got an envelope full of flowers to share with you today.

I have had this idea in my head for a while, and it's fun to see my ideas come to life. I wanted an explosion of flowers on a card, and since I bought the Envelope Punch Board tool, I knew I could make an envelope small enough to fit on my card. So I started with the envelope first by using Kraft cardstock and the Envelope Punch Board. The smallest envelope listed on the board was actually too big for my card, so I experimented with smaller sizes until I got the one that was just right. I cut the Kraft cardstock to 4" x 4" and then scored it on the board at 1 3/4", and then scored the rest of the cardstock as indicated by the slot on the board. That's how I got this cute little envelope. :-)

I glued the three sides of the envelope together, leaving the top open. I then set this envelope aside while I prepared the rest of the card. I stamped the gorgeous Tapestry 2 background (Impression Obsession) with pink ink onto pink cardstock, and then I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday set (Stampavie) with brown ink at the bottom. I glued this pink background onto a white mat and then I glued these onto a Kraft card base.

The envelope was adhered to my pink background right above the birthday sentiment. I then cut out a bunch of flowers using the Miniature Rose die (Cheery Lynn Designs) as well as the Tiny Flower Kit die set (Cheery Lynn Designs). I had fun adhering all the flowers all over the card as well as inside the envelope. For my final touch, I squeezed a dot of Ice White Viva Decor Pearls in the centers of the flowers.

I hope you play along in our Garden Party challenge this week.  It's a fun and easy challenge, and we'd love to see what you create.  Remember, you can save 10% off your order at Classy Cards 'n Such when you use this code, Holly-10, at the checkout.  I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
