Vintage Geese - CHF
This gorgeous Vintage Geese stamp is the new Stamp of the Month for May over at Cornish Heritage Farms. They released this stamp today, a day early, and it is a wonderful old-timey image. It reminds me of those old Victorian toile images.
I wanted a vintage, distressed, aged look for my card, so I used a lot of sponging on all the layers here. To offset all the feminine touches on this card, I used the Fine Lines backgrounder behind the Vintage Geese image. You can see some more wonderful samples in the gallery here.
The Stamp of the Month is on sale for the entire month, so you can save 20% when you purchase this stamp before the end of May. Head on over to Cornish Heritage Farms to start your shopping.

Pinwheel Mother's Day
Have you got your Mother's Day cards done yet? Here's a quick and easy idea for you. Make a quick little pinwheel, add a button to the front, and stick it down on a card. Add the sentiment and you've got a cute and fun card to give to a lucky lady.
I used this Happy Mother's Day sentiment from QKR Stampede, which can be found as part of this Happy Birthday set. I didn't want to cover up the stem from the pinwheel, so I cut the words apart and loosely arranged them to one side.
I can just hear you asking "how did you make the pinwheel???" LOL Easy peasy.
Get yourself a piece of paper that has a pretty pattern on both sides. Cut it down to 3" x 3". (You can do any size square - 3x3 is just what I happened to use here.)
Now draw a line from one diagonal end to the other so you have an X lightly drawn on the paper.
Cut those diagonal lines about an inch or so - DO NOT cut all the way across.
Pull one of the points down to the center and adhere. Pull every other point down and adhere to the center until you have four points adhered in the center. You can cover this with a button, a brad, a sticker, anything.
If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or email me. I hope this inspires you to get your Mother's Day cards done. :-)

Belli Challenge #90 - Birthday Theme
This week's Belli Challenge is all about birthdays. Instead of an actual embellishment, we decided to go with a Birthday Celebration theme. This coincides perfectly with our sponsor, Creative Cuts and More. They have sent all the Belli Girls some die cuts and accessories from their Birthday Kits for us to play with. I had so much fun playing with the die cuts and papers and stickers and rub-ons that are included in the kit.
For this purple tag card, I added my own ribbon, leaves, and pink flowers. The big brad inside the flower came from the Birthday Girl Card Kit as well as the paper and the "party girl" rub-on.
Here is the inside of this tag. I used one of the rub-ons from the kit as well as some of the same patterned paper from the front.
For this yellow tag card, everything is from the Birthday Girl Card Kit except for the chipboard cupcakes and the ribbon that I used. These papers are great for a birthday card and I just had to add the two chipboard cupcakes so they would coordinate with the cupcake paper. How fun!
Here's some more exciting news: Creative Cuts and More is giving away a FREE Boy Birthday Card Kit to one lucky winner. To enter this drawing, create a birthday card and enter it into the Mr. Linky widget on the Belli Challenge blog. Good luck!!

MOJO #135 - Lemonade Flower
Don't rub your eyes! Yes, this is Holly's blog and yes, she created this wild and crazy card. LOL
I had some leftover flower pieces from when I did the Layered Flowers tutorial over on the CHF blog, so I put them to use on this card for this week's Mojo sketch. I didn't have room for a sentiment or that button/ribbon tag on the upper left side, so I just left those off.
I wanted some bold and bright colors to go with the hot pink color I used on my flower, so I pulled out my Basic Grey Lemonade papers and started mixing and matching to see what would look good. I wanted the chipboard butterfly to stand out, so I used some bright turquoise colored crackle paint on that. I had fun putting this wild card together.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

QKR Girl in the tub
Here is another ragdoll stamp from QKR Stampede. Every time I look at these ragdoll images, I am reminded of the old Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls that my cousin had when we were growing up. I loved those dolls, and I love these ragdoll stamps.
I chose this Bubble Bath ragdoll stamp so I could play with my Stickles again. I stamped the image with Memento black ink, colored it in with Copic markers, and then used my favorite Star Dust Stickles to fill in the bubbles. I pulled out some old retired Stampin Up designer paper to use for my background and I paired it with some Prima flowers. Some yellow grosgrain ribbon is the last finishing touch.
Head on over to QKR Stampede to see what other ragdoll stamps they have. One of these days, I'll probably have every single one in my studio. :-)

Cornish Heritage Farms released their newest ATC set called Country Charm Textures yesterday. This set has three mini-backgrounders that are perfectly scaled for doing small projects like ATC's, cards, mini-notecards, and tags. For this card, I stamped the little woodgrain stamp from Country Charm Textures on the fence. You can see how this size is PERFECT for small scale things like little fences.

Asian Inchies
There is a sketch challenge over on the Inchie Inklings blog, and it looked so fun and easy, I just had to give it a shot. I used the little floral image from the Asian Portraits set from Cornish Heritage Farms for my inchies. Because it is so tiny, I didn't bother with shading and highlighting anything. I just colored directly with my Memento markers.
The sentiment is from the Ornamental Beauty set, also from Cornish Heritage Farms, and the gorgeous patterned papers are from Memory Box. The ribbon is some pale green twill that I picked up at Michaels in the Martha Stewart aisle.
I actually have some inchies somewhere, but darned if I can find them. So I just cut some white cardstock into 1" squares before I stamped the floral image on them. Do you want to come over and help me clean up this crazy studio?? :-)

CC&M Beige flourish purse
Today I have a cute little Flourish purse to show you. I got this Mini Purse Bag from Creative Cuts and More in an Almond Cream Bazzill Smoothies color. I stamped some flourishes around the purse to mimic flower stems and vines and then added a couple of punched butterflies to the scene. The crumpled flower is created by punching out four layers of a scallop circle, stacking them on each other, and then crumpling them up in my hand.
This is such a quick and easy project when you need a little something to give to a sister or a girlfriend who might need a little cheering up. Stick a few little pieces of chocolate inside the purse or maybe a couple tubes of a favorite lipstick for the perfect little pick-me-up!

CHF New Scrapblock release and Facebook news!!
Have you seen the newest Scrapblock released over at Cornish Heritage Farms? It is called Life, and it is gorgeous. There's so many different words on this 6" x 6" stamp. You can see lots of wonderful samples in the gallery - click here.
For this card, I used the little Versamagic dew drop inkpad to ink up just the word "believe" on the scrapblock. I didn't ink up the entire stamp - just that one word and the butterfly. To get a soft impression of the butterflies on the green paper and on the French Script image, I stamped the butterflies once on scrap paper to take away most of the ink before stamping the final impression.

Gramma's Birthday Card
I am giving this birthday card to my Gramma today. Pink is her favorite color and this challenge from Stampavie was perfect for creating this card. We have to have 5 flowers, 2 different ribbons, at least one die cut (I have 5!), and use either pink or blue colors on the card.
I stamped this gorgeous Bernadette admiring the Spring Flowers image with black Stazon ink onto watercolor paper. I pulled out all kinds of ink pads and had a blast coloring this sweet scene. The hair is colored with Close to Cocoa ink, which has a reddish undertone to it. I wanted the hair to be sort of strawberry-blonde-ish, so I didn't add any darker browns to it.

QKR - True Friend
Did you read that sentiment? I mean REALLY read it? ROFL!!! That sentiment cracks me up! When I saw this in the QKR Stampede store, I just knew I had to make a pretty and girly card for this sentiment and see if anyone really READS it.
I tend to get caught up in looking at the pretty colors and papers and details and sometimes I skip over the sentiments on cards. Do you do that too? This is my way of forcing y'all to do a double-take and look at the sentiment again. LOL
Here's hoping you enjoy your weekend. Hubby and I have plans to see my grandparents and then buy some flowers to put in the planters by the front door. I'm actually trying to avoid housework by doing things that keep me out of the house. LOL (Furballs everywhere from our two puppies........)

Belli Challenge #89 - die cut shapes
I'm glad you stopped by to see what I created for Belli Challenge #89. This week we are focusing on die cut shapes - pull out your Nesties or Quik Cuts or Sizzix dies and start cranking out some die cuts. Sweet N Sassy Stamps is the sponsor this week, and I chose to work with the yummy-licious cupcake image today. That cupcake is making my mouth water!
This sketch is from The Sweet Stop (SSS51) and I used some Labels 1 Nestabilities die cuts for the two chocolate "squares" on my card. I printed out the cupcake on white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers. The pink designer paper is actually some retired Stampin Up paper - love using these Belli Challenges to use up some of my retired stash, ya know? ;-)
Head on over to the Belli blog to see what the other gals have created today. You might just see a few more cupcakes while you're looking at the eye candy. Mmmmm..... now I gotta go find some chocolate!

QKR Blog Hop - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Welcome to the next stop on the QKR Stampede blog hop. Wasn't Sarah's project great? If you didn't arrive here from Sarah's blog, you don't want to miss what our designers have in store for you! The QKR Stampede Blog Hop starts at www.qkrstampede.blogspot.com, so be sure to start your hopping there.
For my project, I used this adorable Summer Treat stamp with some ice cream designer paper. I wanted this to have a vintage-y sort of feel, so I sponged the edges with some brown ink. The image is watercolored with some reinkers and a water brush.
Since this is our "ribbon cutting ceremony," I did something a little different with the ribbon. Instead of just tying a knot, I folded one end over and over, and then I simply cut a decorative tail on the other end. This is something that I just played around with and somehow it just came together. I rather like this neat effect, and you will most likely see me using this again.
QKR Stampede is giving away a generous $30 gift certificate to one lucky commenter on this blog hop. Be sure to leave a comment at each blog along the way for a chance to win this awesome shopping spree!
Your next stop is Desiree's blog. Have fun hopping along and seeing all the wonderful projects created with QKR Stampede images.

New April SOTM from CHF
Cornish Heritage Farms released their new April Stamp of the Month today, and it is a gorgeous image called Fawn in the Grove. In case you are new to Cornish Heritage Farms stamps, each month a new Stamp of the Month (SOTM) is released and offered for 20% off. When the month is over, it is no longer 20% off, so you definitely want to grab this one at the cheaper price.
The fawn image is stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with a water brush and Memento markers (from the Cornish Heritage Farms store). I simply scribbled the markers onto a plastic surface and picked up the ink with a water brush and painted the image. It's a quick and easy way to color without dragging out all my reinkers or watercolor pencils or crayons or other coloring mediums.
Would you like to see more artwork with this fawn stamp? Check out the gallery HERE for more inspiration. To purchase the stamp, click here - you can buy this either mounted on a wood block or cling mounted.
Have a great day!
