Season's Greetings Poinsettias - BYSHC Christmas in July

Good morning!  There is a fun Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog for Christmas in July, and I'm playing along by posting some new Christmas cards this week.

For today's card, I brushed some Versamark ink over the Poinsettias stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) onto a kraft card.  Even though the Versamark wasn't dry yet, I went ahead and sprayed the card with some gold glitter spray.  I also sprayed this gold glitter onto the pink and red poinsettia flower.  While this gold glitter was drying, I stamped the sentiment, die cut that, and glued the sentiment and the poinsettia flower/leaves/sprigs (Concord and 9th) to the kraft card.

Come play along in this Christmas in July Linky Party and share your holiday cards with us.  You will build up your stash and have fun and find all kinds of inspiration this week.  Have a wonderful day!

Foiled and Teal Snowflakes Holidays - BYSHC Christmas in July

Good morning!  There is a fun Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog for Christmas in July, and I'm playing along by posting some new Christmas cards this week.

On yesterday's card, I showed you the foiled strip that I made from the leftover card that I made on Friday. (Did that even make sense?? LOL)  This is the other half of yesterday's foiled panel (foil and snowflake toner card front from Therm-o-web).  I put it in the middle of a white card and then added the teal snowflakes and the sentiment (Hero Arts).  It's so shiny!

Poinsettia Noel with Foiled Panel - BYSHC Christmas in July

Good morning!  There is a fun Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog for Christmas in July, and I'm playing along by posting some new Christmas cards this week.

On yesterday's card, I foiled a snowflake panel from Therm-o-web.  When I peeled the foil off that panel, I had a gorgeous reverse snowflake foil left over, and I couldn't bear to throw that away.  I had some white toner cardstock, so I placed that left over foil onto this special white cardstock and ran it through my Minc machine.  It foiled beautifully, and I cut this down into two pieces.  You'll see the other piece on tomorrow's card.

For the rest of my card, I placed my favorite Christmas Flowers stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code HollyFan10 to save) over a red card and brushed a slightly darker red ink over the whole card.  Then I added the foiled strip, the die cut flowers/foliage (C9), and the sentiment (C9).

Come play along in this Christmas in July Linky Party and share your holiday cards with us.  You will build up your stash and have fun and find all kinds of inspiration this week.  Have a wonderful day!

Foiled Snowflakes Holidays - BYSHC Christmas in July

Good morning!  There is a fun Linky Party over on the BYSHC blog for Christmas in July, and I'm playing along by posting some new Christmas cards this week.

During the last Linky party in May, I was a lucky winner of a gift card from Therm-o-web.  I bought some Iridescent foil and these gorgeous Winter Sparkle snowflake foiling panels.  After I foiled this panel, I blended some blue and purple inks and then softly wiped the ink off the foiled areas.  I trimmed this down and adhered it to a white card, and then I added the die cut sentiment (Concord & 9th).

Come play along in this Christmas in July Linky Party and share your holiday cards with us.  You will build up your stash and have fun and find all kinds of inspiration this week.  Have a wonderful day!

Mermazing Eddies

Good morning!  I'm back with another mermaid card today because we can never have enough mermaids, right?  LOL  I started this card by very lightly brushing some pale blue ink all over a white cardstock panel.  Then I placed the new Eddies stencil over the cardstock and brushed the same blue ink all over the stencil.  I removed the stencil and placed the open tail from the Layered Mermaid Tail stencil over the panel and brushed a teal ink over that.  I moved the stencil to put the scales inside the teal tail, and I spread some Iridescent Rainbow gel paste over this.  While the gel paste was drying, I die cut the sentiment (Impression Obsession) and spread some of this same gel paste over the sentiment and let it dry.  I glued the panel to a white card and then affixed the sentiment.  The sparkle on this card is so pretty!

Exploration with Sprays

Good morning!  There's a new Mid Month Inspiration stencil at A Colorful Life Designs today, and this Mid Century Mask stencil is really fun.  The abstract lines and squiggles of this stencil creates backgrounds full of movement and life.  This stencil is on sale for only $4 until July 22, AND you can use this code, HollyFan10, to save an extra 10% off this stencil as well as everything else in your cart (excluding Master Creator Bundles).

I decided to try a little experiment with some blue and purple sprays.  On the first card above, I did an even spray to saturate the paper with the colors.  On the second card below, I did a much lighter spray, letting the nozzle drip now and then for those big blobs.  See how the lighter spray looks like a bunch of tiny little dots, like the pointillism technique?  It's just fun to dry different things with all the mediums I have here in my studio.  On both cards, the sentiments are from Pink and Main.  Have fun shopping at A Colorful Life Designs!

Let's Shell-ebrate!

.

Good morning!  There's a new challenge up on the Pink and Main blog, and it is an Ocean theme.  So I pulled out my Shell-ebrate stamps and inked up a bunch of the shells and die cut them.  For the blue waves, I brushed a pale blue ink onto some white cardstock and then tore the paper apart to get those white "foam" edges.  The card base is kraft cardstock that I sponged some kraft ink onto and I used several brown Copic markers to dot the "sand" all over the card base.  After I glued down the blue waves and the shells, I stamped the sentiment with a dark brown ink.

Come play along in the challenge and share your ocean-inspired projects.  Enjoy your weekend!

Rainbow Waterfall Hello

Good morning!  How about a fun rainbow waterfall to kick off this Friday morning?  LOL  I used the new Waterfall stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and a rainbow of inks to make this CAS card.  The sentiment (Pinkfresh Studio) is stamped with black ink and I added some Satin Matte Black Card Bling to complete the card.  It's a fun way to start off the weekend.

Dotted Sun Hi

Good morning!  Have you seen all the great new summer-themed stencils over at A Colorful Life Designs?  There's so many fun new designs, and one of them is this Dotted Sun stencil.  I love that whimsical look!

For this card, I actually started by placing the new Waterfall stencil at the bottom of a white cardstock panel.  I wanted it to look like ocean waves, so I turned the stencil around so it went across the bottom of the card.  I brushed some aqua ink over the stencil and then stenciled this again onto some scrap paper.  I cut the wave shape out from the scrap paper to make a mask and carefully taped it over the blue waves on the panel.  Then I placed the Dotted Sun stencil so it looks like the sun is rising from the ocean and brushed some yellow ink over that.  Some orange ink was just barely brushed across the top of the panel before I glued this panel to an orange card base.  Lastly, I die cut the sentiment (Altenew) and added it to the center of the sun.

How fun is that?  You can use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% (excluding Master Creator Bundles) when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  Check out the July stencils and have a wonderful day!

Sunny Greetings

The Pink & Main blog has a fun challenge for the month of June - Sunny & Bright.  I couldn't resist coloring some sunflowers and adding a little gold glitter to my card.  These sunflowers are from a special kit that I purchased from Pink & Main.  This kit had several sheets of sunflowers and sentiments ready for coloring and matching dies to cut all the images out.  I colored the flowers and leaves with Copic markers and die cut the gold glitter frame from the Stitched Rectangle dies.  These were adhered to a card made from the Pink & Main River Walk cardstock - the perfect shade of turquoise!  I made the little gold glitter dots by using some hole punches to cut the circles from gold glitter paper.

Feel free to play along with the Pink & Main challenge and share your Sunny and Bright projects.  I'm going to color some more sunflowers and get ready for the 4th of July festivities!  Happy 4th!!

Net of Wonder

Good morning!  Summer is here and so are the fabulous new summer-themed stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  This month's stencils are perfect for those who love the water and mermaids and seashells.

I fell in love with the Layered Mermaid Tail stencil when I saw it, and I couldn't wait to play with it.  I created a little scene with three of the new stencils -  Sea Net, Layered Mermaid Tail, and Ocean Stars.  I first brushed some pale blue ink over the Sea Net stencil right onto some pale blue cardstock, and then I brushed a darker blue ink over the Layered Mermaid Tail on the right side of the sea net panel.  While this mermaid tail stencil was still in place, I sprayed some Peacock Feathers Distress Spritz for that shimmery look.  This gives the illusion that the mermaid has been caught in a net, but it needed just a little something more.  So I used some washi tape to mask off the areas around some of the stars on the Ocean Stars stencil and selectively inked up the starfish with a beige ink all around the panel.  The sentiment (Technique Junkies) was stamped with black ink and I added some TL Sea Blend Card Bling for a little extra shimmer.

You can use this code, HollyFan10, to save 10% when you shop at A Colorful Life Designs.  This code is good on all of the Card Bling and the stencils (excluding Master Creator Bundles).  The Master Creator Bundles are already discounted 20% and these are a really good deal.  This month, there are two Master Creator Bundles available to help you save money while purchasing some great new stencils.  Check out all these new stencils at A Colorful Life Designs and have a wonderful day!

Floral Nautilus

Good morning!  Summer is here and so are the fabulous new summer-themed stencils from A Colorful Life Designs.  This month's stencils are perfect for those who love the water and mermaids and seashells.

My card today features the awesome new Nautilus Swirl stencil.  I inked this up with some orange and pink inks and added a die cut flower and the sentiment (Altenew).  Some Crystal Metallic Calypso Card Bling provides the perfect finishing touch.  This card is actually a 5x7 size instead of my traditional A2 because I really wanted to show off this gorgeous Nautilus Swirl stencil.
