Peaceful Music

Have you played in our Music challenge over on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog yet? Dig out your old sheet music, die cut some musical notes, or pull out a music background stamp and show us what you can create!

For my card today, I pulled out the Shabby Music Background stamp from JustRite and stamped it with a pale gray ink onto some vanilla cardstock. I sponged the edges with the same gray ink, and then again with some eggplant ink. Next, I stamped the gorgeous Worn Rose Branch with the eggplant ink. However, I used a little trick when stamping the rose branch. Instead of inking and stamping, I inked up the stamp, then pressed the ink onto some scratch paper first. Then I pressed the stamp onto my music paper. This gives me a faded and much softer image, which is exactly what I wanted. I repeated this two more times to fill in the space around the bottom.

The sentiment, from With Sympathy (JustRite), was stamped with eggplant ink and this time I stamped it directly from the ink pad. You can see the difference in the full ink stamping of the sentiment versus the stamped-off ink from the rose branches.

I wanted to keep this card flat and mail-able, but I also wanted to add a little lace to my card. I cut off the top right corner of my music paper and put down a strip of the 1/8" Scor Tape across the edge of the cut-off corner. A small length of Ecru Delight Lace was laid down onto the Scor Tape.

To fill in the naked corner, I cut out one of the corner dies from Lace Corner Deco F (Cheery Lynn Designs) from eggplant cardstock. This corner piece was glued to the corner of the vanilla cardstock layer. I then adhered my music paper to the vanilla layer, and then I glued the whole piece to an eggplant card base.

I hope you play along with our Music challenge. I'd love to see how you use music on your projects!  You can save some money when you go shopping at Classy Cards 'n Such - simply enter this code, Holly-10, when you check out.  I love helping you save money!  :-)

What an elegant card Holly. It exudes such a sense of calm and peace as well, making it perfect for our challenge last month. I really like the subtle music sheet background it was a great idea to get some of the ink off your stamp before stamping the bottom. Gives it a nice subtle effect.

Thank you so much for joining us this past month over on the Path of Positivity. May you always experience the incredible feeling that peace has to offer.
