Flourishes' Texture Challenge - Burlap Flower card

Happy Friday, folks!!  Have you seen the latest release from Flourishes?  I am in love with all three new sets!!  The Country Road set is definitely ME!!!  I gotta have that one!  :-)

There are some challenges on the Flourishes blog and you have a chance to win free stamps if you play along.  So of course, since I love these new stamps, why not play and hope to win??  :-)  This card is for their Texture challenge.

I used a sentiment from the Around the Arbor set from Flourishes and stamped that at the bottom of my card.  I used the Distressed Paper technique from Technique Junkies to give some texture to the patterned paper and adhered that to the top of my card.

For my embellishment, I die cut some tattered flowers - one from burlap (more texture!) and one from patterned paper.  I added a button to the top and tied some twine through the holes (yet more texture!).  Lastly, I scrunched up some seam binding (yup, more texture!) and glued that behind my flowers, then adhered the whole thing to my card.  How's that for texture?  Hee hee hee!

I've wanted to try a burlap flower for ages, and just never got around to it, so this challenge gave me the incentive to cut into the yard that I bought months ago.  I love the shabby chic feel it gives to my card!

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a restful weekend!  Hugs!
